Beveridge Park is the main park in the town of Kirkcaldy. Located not far from the train station,…read morethe park is home to the local rugby team and a number of sporting events. Over the years the park has hosted cross country championships, football tournaments and a host of athletic events for charity. The park has a large pond, with pedalos available for hire (an added bonus!). Furthermore, it has a number of children's play areas, a small animal farm (has a small range of animals) and a number of tennis courts. Beveridge Park always seems busy, and obviously very popular due to the wide variety of facilities on offer!

The park had been left to wreck and ruin and was covered in graffiti and rubbish in recent years but this last year the play area has seen a complete rebuild and the whole park has been cleaned up. The park has many features including formal gardens, play facilities, sporting facilities and a pond where boating is available. It has a large car park which has areas for both car and coach parking and the park hosts a few events throughout the year such as a travelling circus and the Kirkcaldy gala. The park is certainly on its way back up and I hope it makes it back to being the great place it was when I was a kid.

The place is very well run and is very safe, they offer party nights as well as single booking and although they are not cheap they are far from expensive either for what you get. Well worth a visit and a great time to be had by all.

I told them I wasnt looking to cause a scene and left. When your paying this much money for an experience like this you shouldn't feel like your about to have someone physically attack you for driving competitively on a race track. Just to clarify... when I say I bumped into a couple of my friends I mean the odd little knock if they pulled into me while I was overtaking or if they braked a little earlier than me... not intentionally ramming into people full force. This would have been fine however if they had been polite about it however the way they treat people is disgusting.

Ever wondered how Edinburgh looks from the outside?…read more Well, one place to view the glorious city of Edinburgh is from Silver Sands in Aberdour. Silver Sands is both a beach and a park. The beach, accessed via a very steep road, is, apart from St. Andrews one of the most well known and most visited beaches in Fife! It even has been awarded a blue flag for its qualities! A word of warning though, even on a warm day, the water is still freezing cold, so best advice is to stay on the beach! The park surrounds the beach and is very large in comparison. It has plenty of car parking spaces and has many sporting facilities. It has enough grassy areas for football or other field sports, a children's play area and plenty of cycle paths. Usually on a sunny day there is an ice cream van, or it is only a few minutes walk to the high street for some snacks! However, the main attraction of Silver Sands is its magnificent views of Edinburgh. Arthur's seat and the crags dominate the skyline. Also, the sheer size of Edinburgh is quite surprising, as when in the city it does not feel that big. Silver Sands is an ideal place to chill in the hot summer and has one of the best views of Edinburgh!

With the park between the beach and the town, parking is plentiful and beach access via a gentle path and some steps. The road from the town to the car park is almost flat, with plenty of cycle paths, walkways and sightseeing opportunities, including the walk round Hawkcraig point for the view onto Aberdour, to the west, and over to Inchcolm and the medieval Abbey. Further west rise the engineering wonders of the Forth road and rail bridges. To the south can be seen part of the expanse of Edinburgh with much of it hidden behind the bulks of Arthur's Seat, Castle rock, Clermiston hill etc. Beyond that can be seen the Pentland hills with the Hillend dry ski slope lit up like a Christmas tree at night. Central Edinburgh--the New Town and the Old Town have become surrounded by soul-less housing schemes but the historical character of the city is well worth exploring

Often. First-Hand Experience: I've never seen Raith play at home, but I have been to their home stadium. I have, however, seen them play live in person away from home, and it was great watching this little club battle away for their tiny army of travelling supporters. They managed to grind out a 1-1 draw and earned a lot of respect, and earned plenty of kudos, and a 4-star rating for me. I had no idea they were formed in 1883 until recently... what a fantastic proud old club. This club plays in Kirkcaldy, which was named after when Captain James T Kirk once shopped at Aldi. In 1922 this little club finished 3rd in the league, so well done to them. It won the 1994 Scottish League Cup on penalties too which is their finest hour by far. They were formed way back in 1883, and play to just over 8k fans. They play in white. One weird thing happened with this team in 2005 when Claude Anelka (Nicolas' brother) offered £300,000 to any team who would offer him a manager's job and was subsequently appointed the manager of Raith Rovers. Anelka signed a team of (mostly) continental players from the lower leagues in France. A disastrous season followed, despite Anelka resigning halfway through the season. Raith were relegated. Other than that. Nothing to report. Except that it's owned by the fans, and they won the Scottish Challenge Cup against Rangers in 2014, which is the only time you'll ever see Rangers in a SCC (which is for lower league teams).
