The Dyno plumber himself is a nice guy who explains what he is doing. Unfortunately he is managed from the mainland and the guys on the telephone are rubbish. I had a blocked sink. I waited all day for the plumber to arrive and he arrived at 5pm. He cleared the sink, but did not have the part to repair it, and the office was closed. He took the broken part out and explained what had happened. I told him I would not be available until 11 am the next day and he said he would get the office to phone after that time. They did not. When I phoned they told me he was booked out all Friday and would come Monday (bear in mind my kitchen sink is unusable and it is impossible for me to wash dishes, get rid of water from cooking etc). When I complained I was told 'That is the nature of plumbing. We are in demand and if you want us to fix it you will have to wait'. The cost of the job £96 + VAT (of which £75 was labour). I took the broken parts to B&Q and bought replacements for £11.06 (a mark up of over 100% seems excessive). I then fitted it myself which took just 20 minutes (meaning a dynno plumber costs a stonking £225 per hour). The sink now works fine. So if you have a big job and can wait the plumber is a nice bloke. If it is a small job go to B&Q and ask for some help they are really ace and it will save a fortune. read more
