I was a swimmer of Dynamo in 2013/14 season. Moved to this club because followed my coach who changed his job/club. Because of my coach's great performance and experience he leaded AAA and Senior National levels group. Dynamo didn't have it before. My coach designed a high-performance program which was never established before. We needed 6-8 practices a week but Lidia M., head coach didn't have any idea how to accommodate high level athletes. The club didn't have enough pool space for us. I heard how my coach offered and discussed a plan and direction for Lidia M. We older swimmers participated in some activities of this plan. We were so surprised and disappointed that "experienced" coach and club leader-"founder" didn't know about a training process of different level athletes even though she advertised everywhere about her "achievements" as a coach. It was awful experience in my swimming career. We were lucky because we had a great and reliable coach who really took care of us-his swimmers. He organized dry-land workouts which were a huge surprise for old members. They stated that none of any groups had it in the past. I noticed that Lidia M. asked my coach about practice sets. Based on my observation, Lidia M. had poor coaching knowledge. My coach as a kind person shared some of his knowledge and experience with Lidia M. When she assisted or coached us all teammates were laughing at her because she didn't demonstrate confidence in coaching. She jumped from one thing to another. There were so many unprofessional actions. Oh no, I remember only one good moment- when she gave candies. For small kids it was ok, but for us Senior Nationals it was strange because we needed professional coaching and full cooperation. We didn't have it from this head coach especially when we noticed that our coach was not treated fairly well for all his commitments done for this club. He coached almost all competitive swimmers and was not paid for his job. When some parents noted this, they notified everyone in the club. I am confirming that a group of parents investigated a head coach, Lidia and her husband and administrator, Steve Menzies admin job and noticed that they misused club's money. Lidia has a contract which she created as a no-profit organization director. She complained that the club didn't have money to pay to our coach but assigned a salary for herself approx. $100,000 (I don't remember exact number but it was a shocking #). All members paid fundraising fees. Also, the club received different sponsorship funds and nothing was used for our coach's hard work. Ridiculous! Our coach had been working for 9 months for no money. Members asked Lidia and Steve to pay for his work but they refused stating the club has no money even though they traveled overseas for their vacation during the training period and bought a new car for themselves according to their info at that time. Basically, they enjoyed life while our coach was taking care of the entire club. After a long discussion and negotiation, athletes and members advised to our coach to leave Dynamo and find a paid job. It was painful experience. True, more than 25 families left because of Lidia's and Steve's dishonesty. read more
