The staff were very helpful and when I said it might not be possible to save the frame, out of curiosity they put the bike straight on the shop stand to have a proper look at it. Minutes later I was walking out with a brand new bottom bracket installed. Very impressed. Reasonable prices. These guys love a challenge.

Yes - I could fix it myself but I am lazy and my bike is 50 years old so figured I'd just get a quote and see if someone professional could give it a once over. Not sure who I spoke to at Sprocket but he was very helpful and quoted me £28 for the same job. What a nice guy! I'll be taking 'Star Rider' (yes) down for a service very soon! A range of first and second hand bikes are available, and a large portion of the selection I had a look at were definitely a bit more special than what's on offer in your average bike shop, and some could even have been described as vintage. The Birmingham Bike Foundry also reclaims bikes that have previously been scrapped and do a fair amount of bike repairs too, having a reputation for being dirt cheap as far as repairs are concerned. There's also all manner of workshops and tool share schemes on the go. With a food co operative due to open a food store in the next few months, Stirchley could turn into a haven for independent, co operative run small buisnesses. For now though, Birmingham Bike Foundry are doing an excellent job of leading the way. If you're a bike enthusiast, you'd be a fool not to pay them a visit.

Instead of leaving a note they decided to leave it and let me pick up the bill. So I took the damaged and warped bike to Scott's and they looked at it and said 'no problem'. I bought the bike for 900 and they said they would do the whole fix, which including two new wheels for under 100 pounds. I was very pleased with the price and checked my bike into the bike hospital for a night to be repaired. The repair was excellent and they called me earlier than anticipated to say they had completed the job. The service and workmanship I received on my repair was nothing short of excellent.

Bought a bike (Saracen tt comp tufftrax) amongst other things from here and lasted a while…read moreconsidering how I ride it haha poor bike went through hell and back with me. It was originally £320 but it was reduced to £180. Went down devils dungeon with it, it survived took it to cornwall, survived and than I managed to kill it on a kirb. Took it to the shop as I'd snapped the derailier (I did this 3 times) they fixed that and without telling me fixed a couple of other things as well so that costed me £70 odd pound. But the next two times only cost me £15 for the hangar But after that never had a problem with them. When I moved to Wiltshire had to find a new bike shop :( now have a trek and it's still going strong... Just Overall a bloody good shop recommended!
