Very low mile Lexus GS300 had P0440 0441 0446 Evap faults which held up smog inspection. Researching the net I suspected the plastic Overflow Valve on top of the gas tank had cracked and leaked. No way could I remove all structural and moving parts then drop the gas tank to replace it. Had a lot of problems, wasting months and hundreds dollars with Jose at Radiator Depot on Westminster and a mobile mechanic to install a new canister and purge valve per Jose's recommendation, since he had no time to do it. All that work did not solve the problem. It was very time consuming, expensive and frustrating. Cops were hassling me for the expired tag. Finally on recommendation from a guy in Club Lexus, brought it in to Mr Son at Dynamic Auto Repair in Fountain Valley, CA. He charged $100 for diagnostics applicable to repairs in his shop. He used to be a tech for Lexus dealer and has a sophisticated diagnostic computer system to operate and test various Evap components. After 20 minutes, he found a very small leak on top of the Overflow Valve, which would be very difficult to detect with smoke machines. The Evap canister was very likely good. I had bought OEM overflow valve and gasket. Left the car to him. Next day he called and said, valve replaced, problems fixed. He also replaced gratis plastic vent hoses broken by the mobile mech and the substandard hoses at the purge valve on top of the engine, which were incorrectly installed by Radiator Depot. He charged about 30% less than a Lexus dealer quote. I suspected Lexus would likely jack up the costs even higher after I bring the car to them. During the drive home, all OBDII monitors were cleared. Car passed smog the next day. Son is a competent, nice, honest, helpful guy, worth 5 star. All other shops in OC have gotten 1 and 2 stars. One even seriously sabotaged my car and was reported to police and DMV. Highly recommend Dynamic. Will come back to him with my Lexus and all my cars to save money, time, headache with other shops. read more

We have been taking our Lexus rx350 and Toyota Sienna to Son and his crew for years. Son is honest and fair which seems to be rare these days for mechanics. On the Sienna, I had another mechanic say I need new axles, brake pads, and to change out the control arms (estimate was around $5,000 for all the work). I thought this was odd so I had Son take a look and he confirmed my suspicions about the axle and control arms. He replaced my brake pads at a fair price and same day pick up. read more

Come get your tint from this company! I kept seeing ads for tint and detailing on instagram. The thing that got me to go was a friend referral. He told me they do a really good job so I decided to go with Dynamic. I went in and was assisted with good advice and got the tint I wanted. I was one of those customers who changed their mind after setting everything up but I did in enough time to where they could make the change. That was my bad but dynamic didn't make it a big deal. The tint was completed in about 2 and half hours which is really fast! I highly recommend going to get some of their services! read more

The car's temperature gauge was fluctuating between half and three-quarters; drop it off early in the morning. I came back around 2pm and woke up the owner; he was taking a nap on the sofa. Told me to come back later because he hadn't started on my car yet. Anyway, I came back at 5pm and paid a couple hundred for a thermostat replacement. He told me it was the thermostat. The next day, the temp gauge was still fluctuating between half and three quarters. Gave him a call, and he told me to bring it back and let's see what else could cause the problem. I was like, No thanks. He was doing hit-and-miss/guessing auto repair. Ever since his best mechanic retired last year and now he has to do all the work by himself, he is doing rushed work, especially on the cooling system problem. If any of you have a problem with your car's cooling system, stay away; this is definitely not the place for it. Maybe just for minor works like oil & brake replacement. Other than that, stay away! I took my car to another mechanic, and he got it repaired. The car has been running smoothly ever since. Like I said, you have been warned. Personally, I think it's time for the owner to either hire another mechanic or retire. read more

This was super ez. They had a special on line for ceramic tint. I called they were awesome on the phone set me up for a Saturday and I got a txt confirming my appointment. Showed up they gave me all my choices of tiny and went outside to take pics of my car for any existing damage. It only took a couple of hours. I also had a bumper plug that was unpainted and they even wrapped it for me while they did the tint. Would recommend these guys to anyone. read more

I have been going to this place for the last eight years. Sonny is very upfront and reliable. I had trouble with my car not turning over I finally got it to turn on so I went to AutoZone to get a diagnosis. They told me it was a bad starter and my battery was good. I bought a mediocre battery two years ago so it was confusing of why they said my battery was still really good and it was the starter. this is my first time not owning a Toyota as I currently have a Hyundai since dynamic specializes. in Toyota and Lexus, he says to bring it in To look. He popped the hood tightened a few things and I just need a battery. Even though I live right next to Disneyland, I will always make the effort to drive to him and his crew. I've been coming to Dynamic for many years and have referred friends and family here. Son and Norman are very professional - and in some cases try to talk me OUT of doing service items that they don't deem immediately necessary. Started bringing my 2000 Lexus GS400 here years ago and they have been servicing my Honda Odyssey since it was new in 2008. They recently did the big 200,000 mile service on my Honda Odyssey including motor mounts, valve adjustment, timing belt, etc. Runs like the day I bought it! It is hard enough to find an honest mechanic but to find one with fair prices is extremely rare. I have been taking my cars to Dynamic Auto for well over 10 years and wouldn't trust anywhere else to service my cars. Sonny is very straight forward and direct with you on what your car needs or doesn't need. He will never try to convince you to make repairs that your car doesn't need. Even if you insist that your car needs certain repairs, he'll recommend against it if he doesn't feel it is necessary. You can't get more honest than that from a mechanic.
