In the box lot area, there was even an auctioneer--an older man with a cane--who might spend 45 minutes or more on a single box. There was also a small kitchen where you could buy freshly cooked meals, which added to the overall experience. Today, the approach is very different. I see little to no online advertising for their auctions compared to other auction houses, aside from their website and a limited group they notify directly. Auctions now move quickly: items start low and end fast, with minimal effort to increase the final price. While this format can benefit buyers, sellers should be cautious. With the current pace and lack of active bidding, it is unlikely that items will achieve strong selling prices.

Even if you don't buy anything, it's worth the trip. Blaine is full of great stories. There is always at least a few items that surprise. The auctioneers do their best to get the most for their consignors but there are still bargains to be had (if you have knowledge and a little vision!). Definitely part of the week for which I always look forward. The people who work there are all a delight. Usually about 4 auctions going on simultaneously so you have to stay on your toes! J. I'd been buying lots from Kleinfelter's via their online weekly sale for 5-6 months to stock my…read morevintage shop. The staff were very quick, helpful, and accommodating, getting me a chair to sit while I wrap things, loading large items into my vehicle, etc. A++ for service. When I learned that our landlord was ending our lease 2 months later, we scheduled a walk-through, KF's owner visited our store, and said probably 90% of our stuff or more would be fine for their auction. We had a closeout sale, and at the end of our lease they sent a 4-man crew and a box truck to load most of our store for auction. Took them about 2.5-3 hours. Our first batch of goods just went up for auction this week, and while we were certainly disappointed in how much a few of our lots brought, we were surprised at how well others did. Overall, we were VERY satisfied. More items were put up for the following week, and unfortunately the presentation for some lots seemed rushed (some valuable items were barely visible among a box of others, etc.) I emailed them and expressed my concerns and they promptly acted to remedy the situation, taking more photographs and updating descriptions. Great service from them as both a buyer and seller so far. If I rated them separately, I'd have given them five stars as a buyer, and 4 as a seller. When I reopen my vintage shop in a new location, I will definitely look to them again for goods -- they have a lot of great stuff every week.

Watch out for the shipping cost. They'll get you. Over 25$ to ship 2 flat license plates.read more

Starting a small business is hard and its made harder by people like Zettlemoyer Auction, who…read moreeither mistakenly or deliberately put a pick up time requirement in terms and not in the shipping and pick up information. As a result we tried to arrange pick up with a company but was told a time frame that wouldn't work. After reaching out to them, by phone and going back and forward over and over finally reached I better pick up time. Sadly the shipping company could not help us as it was now to late to organize this pick up. We explained that had they clearly stated in shipping or on the auction somewhere the very small window in which to pick up these items we would have already had it organized or would not have bud on these items. As we are a small business and have no staff at this point. I asked for a refund as it was not our fault and it was refused. They where ride and defensive right from the start. Beware when you work with these people don't just look at shopping and pick up info for details, they hide info in the terms. On a personal note $350 may not be a large amount to this company, but as stated we are a small business and losing these items and the money has hurt us. During these hard times, we need to work together, things are harder especially with shipping and such. After our experience with you we will be recommending to the many small businesses we know, to not do business with your company.

Instead of giving us the title sowe could register it, they held it until we drove an hour away to 'their' tag and title person. With all the 'additional fees' added to the taxes, transfer and titling, this small trailer ended up costing us 3x the amount a trailer twice the size did. Will not attend a Zettlemoyer auction again.
