Regular customer. Went for the pub quiz. I waited in line to ask about the pub quiz. It was my turn, I go to the till, the person behind me goes to the 2nd till and one of the guys on the side comes running. I go and tell the girl manning my till what just happened and she was apologetic. I go back to my table to see what family want for drinks, to prove a point I go to the second till to see if they'll serve me. One of the guys looked me straight in the eye and carried on talking. The girl changed tills to serve me. Pub quiz starts. Mum got bored and started texting on her phone for work. Got disqualified* for having our phone, despite the fact that we told him my mum was working. Fine. We had our phones. But there were at least three other tables we pointed out that were blatantly cheating using their phones and he just carried on with the quiz. I went back in because I realised I left my bag, and I went and told him again that he's not doing anything about the other people on their phones. He claims he never saw them and carried on with the quiz. They were our go-to coffee place. Lost 4 customers in half an hour, bravo. *EDIT: he also said it on the mic in front of everyone to embarrass her

The place is massive and consists of a restaurant and separate bar area which is used for live music gigs. We went on a mid-week evening which was more quiet, but not as quiet as they expected. Staff seemed completely overwhelmed by the number of guests. We had to wait well over an hour for any food to arrive at our table the large party at the table next to us weren't served until we were ready to leave at 10. Unfortunately, the more senior waiter lost his cool in the course of the evening and wasn't particularly friendly, almost snapping when one of us went up to the bar to hand over our payment. As we booked the table on a discounted deal, I'll be forgiving and give three stars. At full price this would seem generous as no food is good enough if the atmosphere isn't right.

Sometimes you have to wait quite a long time to be served as they spend a lot of time chatting to the customers which is a good thing in my opinion. The pizza and pasta is of good quality and they have a good selection of wine and beer. The staff are really friendly and chatty as I mentioned and it is generally quite good fun in here with lots of people in large groups.

Around 10:30 (oh, sorry, I meant 22:30) the place started filling up with single blokes looking to get their groove on. If you're a girl on the prowl, you'll have your pick at this place. I think the name is short for "So? Am I gonna get shagged or what?" We went here for a private party in the cozy bottom level, which you can apparently rent out for about £200 with a cash bar. It opens up into a lovely patio with heat lamps where the foolhardy can brave the cold. It's probably packed in summertime. Mixed drinks are served by the measure, as it is everywhere in England. (Another reason why I love living in the States: no jiggers when the alcohol is poured!) But prices are fair and they have specials on certain nights. Call ahead to find out since the website doesn't give any info.

On the plus side it meant that our mixed group of 8 walked straight in and got some of the limited table space, but it did put us in that awkward place of not having enough people around to dance but the music being too loud to chat. We left after one round of drinks - which I bought and remember thinking was pretty reasonable versus London prices. The friendly bartender was the saving grace of this place as you could tell he really knew his stuff. He knocked up a great Old Fashioned for my mate who was dithering over his drink choice, which wasn't on the menu and made me wish I hadn't been so quick to order my Vanilla Mojito (turned out a bit too sweet for my liking). There was a certain novelty at partying in what is essentially a giant conservatory and I do like the centralised bar layout - but perhaps there's a better vibe when it's busier...
