The service provided by the technician was good and he came by a second time to complete the job. However, he was unable to take payment at the conclusion of the day and told my husband the office would call to collect payment. I was unaware payment was not taken and about a month later I got a nasty phone call followed by several nasty accusatory emails from the owner who assumed we had tried to avoid paying for the service. By the time her first nasty email was sent to me the check was already in the mail. Here is what Agi wrote: "You lied. You said you would send the payment on the 15th. PAYMENT HAS NOT ARRIVED! We did what you asked and now you're trying to cheat us!!! WHY??? No ethics? No morals?! And you are a NURSE??!!! PAY US NOW" I responded asking her to recall it was a holiday weekend and to check the postmarked date, and that her email was extremely rude. Her next email was: "I want you to know that I take it VERY personally when someone doesn't send payment for agreed upon service rendered. We showed up and saved the day. There is a reasonable time frame for payment and you have exceeded it. I think it's VERY rude not to pay people in a timely manner. I don't know how you justify it and try to turn it onto me. I really shouldn't have to ask a grown adult to make a payment. It's deeply troubling to me when I have to do that. We are a small business and money matters to us. Frankly, I shouldn't have to ask. What is YOUR problem?" In my next email I requested the Agi discontinue contact with me. She is clearly a narcissist - attempting to control others using emotions, insults etc; she is always right despite the actual true events, doesn't take any responsibility for her actions, is a victim, as yet somehow was also the hero in the situation! If I could give no stars I would. I just got berated by Agi on the phone. Just WOW. Dyer's dropped the ball and didn't order my door six weeks ago when I signed a contract. They called me today to tell me they were just ordering the door, confused I asked if they meant they had the door. No they had somehow missed it and didn't order till today. Agi apologized and I asked if there was any way to a small discount because of the delay (needed the door specifically to satisfy my insurance and am concerned they're going to drop me because we're taking so long to replace the door) and then Agi started to flip out on me. Telling me I was out for blood and skin... told me I was abusive (I'm not going to raise my voice or get super angry with someone over the phone just because of a garage door). I felt like I was being abused all the sudden and she yelled at me "you don't like me I don't like you let's just cancel this" and hung up on me. Never had someone I wanted to pay so much money yell at me so much for absolutely nothing... I purchased a garage door from this company a year ago. Yesterday I accidentally closed the garage while pulling out and the sensors didn't stop the garage from closing and ultimately hit my car. I called this morning to see about having someone come out and make sure the sensors are working properly. The rep, who was the owner, started telling me that the sensor has to be 6-8 inches from an object for the sensor to work. My rear tire had crossed the sensor while the door was going down so clearly it was 6-8 inches away from while the door was going down, but she didn't care for my explanation. She started getting aggressive with me after wanting to charge me $169 to come out and look at the unit they installed 12 months ago. I asked if its Dyers fault, will you give me the money back and she started going off on me and ultimately hung up on me 2 times. They quoted me $199 plus parts to replace the chain cable idler pulley that broke since it's a fragile piece of plastic. I looked up a YouTube video on how to replace the pulley and ordered the part on Amazon for $6.56. It took me 15 minutes to install and test. So, if their quote isn't considered predatory, I don't know what is. All I needed was a step stool, a wrench and the part. A technician responded and claimed to have fixed the problem without doing much of a thorough check on all of the components of the garage. The bill was paid immediately on the phone. 2 weeks later, the garage door started acting up again. The same technician returned and claimed to have found more issues. The office wanted to charge for a FULL SERVICE CALL to repair items they MISSED THE FIRST TIME. We called in to complain about this and were chastised on the phone with verbally abusive, threatening language. "You people" was one of the phrases used. A lien on our home was threatened if we didn't pay for the 2nd trip. When asked to put on her supervisor, the woman hung up on us. I called to do a complete maintenance service on a single car garage door. I made an appointment with Agi, who was lovely and provided a price and all the necessary information over the phone. Jonathan was the technician. He arrived exactly on time. More importantly, he was extremely professional and knowledgeable, courteous, and so kind! My old garage door opener was starting to fail so I wanted to upgrade to a new model with built in wifi. I set up an appointment for 2 business days later. The installer showed up, laid out his tools in the garage, and got to work. The install was very clean. All the wires were run against the walls when possible before running on the ceiling down to the main unit. Once finished, he cleaned up all of the old parts and took them with him on his truck He also tested the unit to make sure it worked, and lubed all the moving parts on the door springs/bracket. They turned up over an hour early (luckily we were in!), and were finished in half an hour, with all the parts ready to go in their van. This is a quality company that I wish I had more work for because they were so easy to work with and straightforward! We had another company come who quoted $900 to relplace the hardware and $1500 for a new door. His scheme was to get us to do the new door for a couple hundred more. So about 3 years ago I had a really good experience ordering and have a garage door installed. That is why much to my surprise when I called customer service today, I had to deal with, Aggie, and had one of the rudest most condescending experiences ever with a customer service person. Our power went out the other day and I had no problem unlocking the door, but when the power went back on, I had trouble resetting it. I knew it had something to do with the emergency release lever. So when I spoke with, Aggie, I would listen to her explanation and when I obviously didn't get it right, would describe to her what I was looking at and what I thought was the right part (ultimately it wasn't). I figured once she heard what I was describing she would realize I was not looking at the right part. Instead, she would reply in a very disgusting manner, that I needed to stop talking as she knew what she was doing . And yes, i agree with that, clearly she did and I did not. But she had no patience to listen to me and I think if she had, then she would have realized that I was looking at the wrong part. I was going to ask her if I sent a pix, if that would that help, but at that point I knew that it wouldn't. When I told her I thought she was being rude and condescending, she mockingly agreed with me and hung up. after this experience, even though I had a great experience 3 years ago, I say STAY AWAY from this place. read more

Current owners Bill and Agi are retiring and have sold the business effective 5/1/2023. While Agi is pleasant and generally helpful, my experience with Bill and his business practices is reprehensible. With his eyes solely on his exit, the level of service I got from him defies belief. I purchased two high end doors for $7300. As part of a major home renovation I alerted Dyers that I didn't want the installation until the garage was drywalled with the transmission wires to the keypad hidden. This seemingly simple request me with extraordinarily nasty comments from Bill which eventually led me to drive the 1 mile to his house to pick up the wire. I paid for the entire bill 3 months before delivery and was rewarded with a $218 surcharge for using a credit card. Something most business people would disclose before running your credit card. The kid they sent to measure for the garage doors shows up with a flexible cloth tape that I offered to let him use a professional metal measuring tape and he refused. So then I ended up having to lend a hand to hold the other end of the tape to get accurate measurements. During this entire site assessment, one would expect any issues that would affect installation would be brought to the home owner's attention. All that was indicated was I needed 12 feet of garage floor space clearance for the installers. I proceeded to finish the garage and exterior smooth stucco and paint. Upon installation day, the very competent and talented installers immediately noted that one of my doors could not be installed because there needed to be more clearance for the tracks. This required adding 2x8 framing and then removing and patching the garage stucco facade and repainting. The installation team indicated every job measured by the particular individual who did my measure had had problems because the kid was not competent. That kid is also no longer working for the company. So I asked Bill to step up and help assist with what amounted to a $1200 charge to fix the stucco and framing. He gleefully offered nothing and stated he felt no responsibility at all because he believed I was informed of the requirements for the door. Sadly that wasn't the case as the installation team was the first time I heard about any additional clearance required. I have no idea if the company purchasing Dyers is more ethical than the current owner, but definitely keep be forewarned. I had heard good reviews about this company but I've had superior service from other garage door suppliers for a fraction of the cost... and no mistakes when you have the site measurement and inspection. Hopefully the installers will be retained by the new company because they're the only honest and professional thing about this company. read more

When the 2nd door decided to fail, we knew we had to do something to fix them both. Professional, honest, and reasonable. I was looking for a local place to buy a new carriage for my Genie Garage Door Opener. I was chatting with Genie and they referred me to this place. I was willing to drive the 66 miles round trip to pick up the part but when I called them, they said they only do installations. They said it would be $75 for the part, I asked them to repeat that, and they verified the price, and that it would be $169 to install it. Well, the part sells for $19.99 from Genie and it takes about 20 minutes or less to install. So I informed them that I would just order one and install it myself like I did once in the past. Add to that an insane garage design with a low-hanging "attic," where the opener has to live, which is only accessible by climbing up a ladder and crawling across the floor. Agi and Bill have worked on three different garage doors for me. They have installed both simple lightweight metal and the heavier more elaborate translucent glass and anodized metal doors. Actually, I'm starting to have issues with the glass-and-metal one (it's about seven years old now)... it gets a lot of sun and there seems to be a little "bleeding" of whatever glue/sealant hold the glass in the frame. But, more to the point, is that Dyer's has gotten even better with Albert in the office... quick to return calls and emails and good attitude. I called him yesterday after I messed up my folks' garage door (Hey, it was an accident!) and he had Mitch out repairing within an hour and a half. It was $159 for the super quick response, repair and did a little general tune up while he was there. Might someone do it cheaper? Maybe but not much cheaper... and it's nice to now that they are sending out someone with a good attitude, that is not playing games or upselling or bullshitting.
