Was tested and labs show end stage renal failure. Recommendation was for a medication and appetite stimulant and to see how he did. 1 week later he was outside chasing a squirrel in the back yard. Now 60 days in and he acts like he did 5 years ago, running and eating and happy. I cannot say enough about how they have taken care of my 2 old dogs. Their quality of life has vastly improved and if I loose either one anytime soon I know they were treated as best as possible and given quality time in their remaining days thanks to the staff and veterinarians who have treated them!

Additionally, unnecessary tests were not even discussed; whereas, the last vet we went to would automatically need to do cultures and blood panels at the cost of hundreds of dollars. Instead, based on observation via the exam and the symptoms and behavior we described, we were given a prescription to try. This did the trick and the concerns have not only resolved; but it seems our dog is feeling better and is on the mend. The only cause of concern was aseptic techniques were not observed but when questioned the vet was quick to acknowledge and left the room to wash up and resolve the issue. Both my husband and I have medical backgrounds so we tend to be more concerned about blood borne pathogens than the average person so this may have been something most people would not be concerned with or have noticed. Nevertheless, we still highly recommend this practice as affordable, knowledgeable and more importantly as one that does not view the owners as just a way to charge more for tests than is necessary. Being given options with informed information to make decisions from a financial perspective that is in line with our budget without being made to feel uncomfortable was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Many thanks to Flatt Veterinary Clinic for the care and treatment of our fur baby.

Midway Veterinary Hospital - My sweet Boo in pain and feeling sad after complications from his neutering. He's much happier now. Thank you, Midway!

I now know my dog, Boo, is going to be ok. I adopted Boo in Jan. He had a rough start at life, so I promised him I'd not let him be hurt or ignored or cast-aside ever again. Midway made room for me to bring Boo in today, which is good, because he started bleeding right before I walked into Midway. I paid for Boo to be neutered at the Veterinary Center of Somerset. That was a week ago. The past three days, he started to get lethargic. Then, last night, 8 PM, he ran up to me, whimpered and raise his leg. I could see how swollen and bruised he was from the neutering. I knew he was going to get some swelling, but there was a big hard vein starting to pop out. I knew it was bad. I contacted the vet who conducted the neuter. He said to bring boo to an after hours clinic. I drove two hours, waited five hours, and was about to be treated when two pets came in who have been hit by vehicles. Since they were in for more serious trouble than my boo, I agreed to get pain pills and anabiotic's and go to my main vet next morning. The clinic told me to go first thing and it could not wait. sadly, the vet who conducted the neutering did not want to see boo. She told me to come back at noon. Since boo was in quite a bit of pain and we have been at this for 14 hours, I was not willing to be put off that easily. So, I sat in the clinic. The vet finally came in to my waiting room. He jerked my puppies leg up and told me that the puppy would be just fine. I tried to explain that the clinic had told me to come in. He then barked at me that I had to pay an emergency visit amount which is more than twice the regular visit price. I was appalled. I could not believe that he was being rude to me because I wanted treatment for complications from the surgery that he had performed. I paid the emergency fee for the less than two minutes of his time and left in tears. I called Midway and they immediately made room for boo in the afternoon. Everything about midway was different. They cared and they talked to my puppy. They understood that what I wanted was to be assured that my dog was going to be OK. though, it has been an awful 24 hours, the silver lining is that I have found my forever Veterinary Clinic. I cannot say enough kind words about how they treated me today. Thank you, Midway. Thank you for showing me kindness and taking care of my baby. Thank you for understanding how important my puppy is to me. I promise him to share the news, so others can benefit from the amazing service I got today. I highly recommend Midway and hope that anyone who is worried about their pet or bring it to the Midway clinic. They care!!
