The location of this lovely manor is in a Park just outside of Oliwa. It is a short fifteen - twenty minute walk to Oliwa itself and a brief taxi ride to Sopot or Gdansk,. The setting is pastoral, surrounded by gentle rolling hills, a multitude of walking trails and tended communal gardens with quirky triangular huts dotting the landscape. The manor site dates back to the early 1600s. There is a medieval water metalsmith museum close by as well as multiple ponds and a fish farm with restaurant a short stroll away. If you enjoy peaceful, pastoral surroundings, a historical feel, lovely well tended grounds - this might be the place for you.
The hotel rooms and common areas appear freshly decorated - the ambiance is French Country style. The main dining room serves a limited but beautifully presented menu - food is fresh and innovative. The service was friendly and prompt during our stay. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have had in Poland - and sitting on the outside rooftop terraces in the morning while listening to birdsong is quite magical.
I would strongly recommend a visit to Oliwa - the main Cathedral holds one of Europe's largest organs and offers free mini concerts several times a day. The cathedral sits on acres of interesting gardens an parkland.
If you want a peaceful, elegant respite from the high energy of Sopot or the swarms of tourists in Gdańsk - there is no better place to stay in the area. read more
