Dwights crew moved our house on relatively short notice, with good care and speed. Showed up on time both days, thought through the loading and trips, and given the fact they were on hourly rates still seemed to find ways to make it go faster. Normally, people do not want to use movers because: 1. They will steal your stuff 2. They will break your stuff Dwight Moving Company dented our coffee table and failed to compensate us or even communicate with us. What we were moving: My boyfriend and I was moving in together to a 1 BR apartment. We are super busy. So we decided to hire a mover. We had only a few items, 1 Queen sized bed, desk, few monitor/TV, a few boxes of necessities and a few other small furniture. Rates: $$ I did a little research and Dwight rates were competitive according to the others that I called. I found others with better reviews and a little cheaper but I decided to go with Dwight because a "friend" recommended Dwight. Turns out the "friend" that used them had some trouble before. Time: They were on time. But it took them 2.5 hour to move. We were moving 15 min away and basically we were moving one bedroom. Furthermore they only had to take apart the bed. Service: Two guys came and were nice. They were pleasant to work with. Trouble: The move was fine, but the guys dented our coffee table during the move(There were a few dents and one major dent, that we are currently covering with a tissue box). The movers said sorry. We were nice and calm and the mover guys told us what to do. According to their policy and insurance they would pay for damages if any were to occur during the move. He wrote down the damages on the receipt (one for him and one for us). He told us that he will inform the owner and the boss will give us a call. We waited for a few days. No Phone Call. So we called and told that we would have to wait for the boss and that they will inform the boss. We sent an email. No reply from the boss. We have moved in for over 2 weeks already. Their BOSS hasn't given us a single call or email. I think the owner should have at least five min to send their customer an update on the damage claim. I guess, they are not interested in our business or care about their customers. I would definitely not recommend them in the future. read more

I had been recommended to Dwight's Moving by a close friend who had used them a few times and knew others that were satisfied with their moving experience so I had high hopes. Requested a quote, they got back to me quickly, it was a great price however I asked for the guy I spoke with to send me the information in an email. I never received that email. Called back about 2 weeks later asking if they still had my quote. They were very friendly and said they did. I told her I would like to move forward in my booking however someone walked in and she had to get off of the phone with me but promised me she would call me back in half an hour. 2 hours later- no phone call. I called her and she gave me a sob story of how she was the only one working and they were dealing with a big move. I felt bad so I said ok, please put my name name down for my move date and call me to discuss details the next day. 2 and a half days later- no reply... I called to say I no longer wanted to do business with them, left a voice mail and what do you know- not half an hour later, they returned my call... Sorry, too little too late. They would probably be a fantastic company to work with but if you can't trust them to call you back, how do you trust them to move your home? read more

I've never had them move my stuff, but a maniac woman pulling their moving trailer just about smashed into the back of my car. You have to drive more carefully or you will break people's furniture. SMH read more

I recently used Dwights for my move, they came highly recommended. To move a 1 bedrm apt 1 mile it took almost 5 hours. I had an antique mirror which before the move even started I had asked them to be very careful as I could not replace it if it was broke. It is the one thing they broke! By forcing my extra large couch thru the front door, they managed to scrape off some of the velvet on the arm of the couch. Come to find out they don't carry adequate insurance to cover the damage, the company pays 60 cents per lb. So unfortunately I will get only $117.00 to fix the damage to my couch and about $20.00 to replace a beveled mirror. they put the mirror between the mattress and box spring to move and did not wrap it in quilting. If they had taken the time to wrap the couch and mirror neither would have sustained damage. I will not use them in the future, they were slow and not careful at all. read more

Its hard to move so you should make your move easier with Dwight's. They do everything, they pack your stuff, move it and unload it. I have used Dwight's Moving three times and they were great. My Mom lived with me until my house flooded in April. She then moved to NE TX with my brother. Due to her health issues she needed to come back ASAP. I was able to rent her an apartment in a senior living facility. I had used Dobber and his crew with Dwight's Moving three times before (two for me and one moving my parents from NE TX in with me). So, I knew I wanted Dobber and his crew again. They just finished moving her. He and his crew are AWESOME! My brother and sil brought Mom down from NE TX with the back of their pickup truck loaded ..... some to stay at the apartment and some to come to the house. In addition to the "regularly scheduled move", Dobber and his crew unloaded the things that went into the apartment ..... then put the rest in their trailer and brought it back to the house. He WORKS! You just need to be ready to move out of the way as he is constantly moving. I also recently broke my arm/shoulder so can't lift anything that takes two hands. I have tons of boxes in the four car garage since I had to move out of the house so quickly after the flood. Dobber patiently moved boxes around until we found the right ones to move. I would recommend Dwight's Moving, especially with Dobber, any day! read more

I have moved numerous times in the past ten years and my move with Dwight's was without question the worst experience. A friend suggested Dwight ... she felt he was honest and hardworking. I was moving from one two bedroom apt to another in the same city ... literally 4 miles between. The move took ten hours and cost more than $1000.00. The furniture was not wrapped or protected in the move and consequently, many of my pieces were chipped and scratched. During the move a small antique table was broken ... two of the legs had been ripped off and the side of the table was badly dented. The table had been repaired in the past and I was less concerned with the monetary value of the piece as I was about the use ability. The table was left turned upside down with the legs broken off. One of the movers offered to give me a name so I could have it fixed. I emailed Dwight numerous times and was repeatedly told by "Nancy" that she would get an answer from Dwight regarding compensation for the table. She sent emails but never resolved the issue. Dwight is unethical and a horrible service provider - if your possessions are damaged by his crew - do not expect him to honor his commitment to make amends for the damage. read more

They moved my 2 story house all the way across Houston: antique furniture up and down stairs, half a dozen book shelves all across the house, and a dozen odds and ends all over. This was my fourth move in 16 years with Dwight's Moving. Obviously I highly recommend Dwight's. Even though I had used Dwight's and like them in the past I got a quote from another company. Dwight's was much more reasonable in price. The other company was going to shrink wrap everything which was not necessary to protect the furniture. This added a lot of cost. Also, the other company charged a large fee for mileage if you go over 100 miles. The mileage and time clock started from the mover's location which was way out of town. Dwight's charges a fixed per hour fee depending on the number of movers with a 2 hour minimum. We were moving from a 2,100 sf house to a 1,200 sf apartment with furniture being loaded into Dwight's truck for the in town apartment and into a uhaul we rented to drive to a location near San Antonio. When I looked at all the furniture and those 2 trucks I did not think there was any way to make it fit. Well we had room to spare. Dwight's used blankets to wrap all furniture. They also wrapped my precious dining room table and chairs in plastic wrap because I asked for it. In this move they put the piano in last so they could make another stop to unload the piano before going to our new place. One item, our doggy gate, broke. Dwight, yes we had the owner lead our crew, did everything to make it righting and he did make it right. Accidents happen. It is how you deal with them that counts. All is good. The move went easily and effortlessly thanks to Dwight and his crew. Yes, I will use Dwight's again. read more

As an individual whom is willing to pay requested amount of monies to have my furniture moved and not damaged, this company deserves a review due to damaged furniture and companies unwillingness to pay for it. I called around to multiple companies for a quote and the prices were competitive. However, Robert whom schedules the service assured that their company was the most reliable and persuaded me to go with them. Upon arrival, I met owner (Dwight) and his employee. During the move, Dwight and his employee were profusely sweating on my furniture, but the kindness in me ignored it. I went on to get a towel added soap and water, then proceeded to clean furniture throughout the move. When Dwight and his employee asked to use the restroom, they left toilet seats up at the old and new residence, which I believe was very disrespectful. Also, there were multiple breaks taken on my time. I have never wrote a review for any company rather the service was good or bad, but for the owner (Dwight) to behave in this manner is unacceptable. As an African American woman, I believe he's prejudice and showed no respect to me and damaged goods intentionally. I told owner (Dwight) about damages he made on move date to my desk and he laughed. Again, I said nothing. However, when I started to look around at my furniture there were more damages. As a work at home, whom is constantly cleaning I'm aware of any damages made to my property. Therefore, when I noticed the additional damages, I reached out to company, they asked me to send pictures and after 45 days no correspondence. I called for follow up today and Robert whom was so persuasive stated they did no damages and the owner (Dwight) was not paying for it, then disconnected the line. Now, this company can keep the money that was paid as I will not suffer because of them. But as a business owner, he should be the last one to damage someone's furniture when specific instructions were giving about how to handle belonging's. read more

My dad found Dwight's through the storage place I had to store my stuff (Fry Road Self Storage, which is an excellent storage facility, I recommend them too). I am so glad I went with Dwight's, rather than some other advertised company in the area. I did some price shopping for the Katy area, and although Dwight's is not based in Katy, they blew the competitors out of the water for service, value and reputation (I have used other moving companies in the past, so feel confident I know what to look for in choosing this type of service). They also told me they move all over the state, and I believe out of state as well. The truck and trailer used was relatively new, well taken care of, and top notch and just the right size after telling them what kind of pieces I had. I used them for my move out, and was so pleased with the job, I used them for my move in, a week later, as my new apartment was not ready yet. The 2 guys I got, Jimmy and Bobby, were friendly, prompt, and just all around great! They were so good, I requested them to move me again (sorry guys...), and Dwight's said they would do their best to accommodate me, and they came through. They moved me when we were having all that rain for 2 weeks straight, and the conditions were not great for the moves, but they always had a smile on their face, were fast but careful (really worked their tails off) and VERY knowledgeable about my furniture pieces, as some were hand me down antiques (big heavy bulky stuff). They probably knew more about my stuff than I did. I had no scratches, dings, dents, gouges, nothing broken. They looked carefully at how my boxes were marked (like not setting a box on top due to being fragile etc), and stacked/stored everything really well to maximize the storage space I had. Dwight's even offers a discount in price if you move during the week, rather than a weekend. They will call you the day before to confirm appointment, then show up the next day. I told Dwight (I think it was Dwight) I would yelp him when I got Internet service hooked up, and am proud to be the first reviewer for this stellar company. My parents have also stated they will be using this company in the future when they are ready to move, they were just as pleased as I was. If you have a big or small move, this is the go-to company; you will be extremely pleased with the service and value, and will want to tell your friends and family about them, they are THAT good. This company has been in business for a long time, and Jimmy and Bobby have been doing this for 15 yrs or so, so you know you will be getting a professional to move your belongings. I am sure all the movers they employ are all great, but if you have the chance, request Jimmy and Bobby, you won't regret it (again, sorry guys)! Lastly, they have NO HIDDEN FEES, they are up front about costs etc, and you get a clear invoice for services rendered at the end of the move. I am sure you have read the horror stories in the news about those shady companies that hold your furniture hostage if you don't pay for the tacked on "fees" after the move is completed.
