They have a really well curated collection of stuff and I was super impressed by their collection of funk/soul/r&b. I found a number of cool stuff. I will say, their prices are really high, especially with condition of records. They were asking $25 for a vinyl with a shredded cover that I purchased in VG+ condition for $20 elsewhere. I would have bought WAY more from them, but why would I pay $15 for a record i could buy for $8-10 elsewhere that's probably in better condition? I know there's a premium on all records up here but with sales tax so high, it really prices out the base consumer. I had a stack of 30 records I wanted, but ended up only getting a few. I got two t-shirts and 3 records and it was $120. Ouch. Their "bargain bin" was anything but a bargain. Thrashed records, asking $15-25. Still a cool store, with great selection of genres. Also, they refuse to let you try a record before buying which is sleazy since they don't even warn you if the record sucks to begin with.

The checkout experience was smooth, though the space is a bit tight and there aren't many cashiers, so I could see it getting crowded during busy times. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the buyback program. I brought in 12 books that were new or in like-new condition (no damage, no markings and some hadn't even been read) and was offered just $0.50 per book, totaling $7 for all 12. This included three complete series and several standalone titles. Out of curiosity, I checked their shelves and saw some of the same books priced between $8-$15 each. Overall, it's a great place to shop for books, but I wouldn't recommend selling here if you're hoping to get fair value especially if your books are in excellent condition.

An exclusive music store it is not any longer but that is what you have to do either companies have to adapt or close. With that said I actually was impressed with the action figure selection here. Marvel Legends, Star Wars and DC action figures all caught my eye and I must say most of them I haven't seen at any other stores that I have been to so that is something I will definitely etch into my mind and it gives me a little bit more motivation to go to the mall. As far as prices go FYE has always been moderate to on the more expensive side of things. Much of the merchandise as well as the action figures reflect this but action figures in general(especially Marvel Legends) raise their prices just like stamps do. Music selection has always been fair with FYE. Seems like my musical tastes gets more specific and my preferred music has become older so the likelihood of locating music I enjoy diminishs at the few surviving music stores in my area anyway.
