The total was for only $60 and I had plenty in my account. The teller, who was new, had no clue that if my son signs them over to me, I can cash them over against my good standing account. I had my account information, debit card, driver's licence. She asked the manager if I could cash the checks, and he said no, only deposit, which takes 2 days to clear. In principle, this would be fine. I could deposit them and then give him cash from my account. But that has never been the policy. I worked as a teller for years, and a good standing account, with clearly enough to cover the signed over checks, can have signed over checks cashed without the delayed depost. Plus, they didn't tell me what I knew, deposit in the ATM and the cash was immediately available. Either they're utterly ignorant of the bank policies and how to treat long standing customers, without any intent to help by directing us to the ATM to do what they couldn't, or they are selective in how they treat customers. Either way, I'll not use that branch again. And if it happens at my local branch, well...... they'll be at a loss of a longstanding customer. My other banks treat me as a valued customer.

Worst bank ever. This is a review for not just this branch but for People's as a bank. I have had…read moreto deal with People's since my parents had their accounts here and when they passed away I continued with them rather than changing banks. Being Executor I had to open an estate account. Over the last 2 years while the estate was being settled, I've had numerous occasions where I had to contact the bank to perform various Executor duties and I can say that the majority of the time, I've had to deal with employees who are either incompetent or the bank has not supplied them with the correct policies across the board because depending on who you are talking to you get different answers and have to jump through hoops to just do regular banking activities. I have so much more to say but I've already wasted enough time on this review and with People's Bank in general. Glad to say I'm finally done with them and will never recommend them to anyone ever.

Everyone is always so nice and accommodating. I just wish as for all People's locations there was…read morea drive-up atm. When you have a small child in the car it's highly inconvenient to have to I strap them (especially in the winter ) to wrangle them and out just to grab a quick $20. Honestly, it's worth it to me to pay the $1.25 or whatever it is at the next closest drive-up to save my sanity. I bet anyone with a sleeping child in a car seat will agree with me on this point.
