I visited a lot of antique stores and cute shops in the Eddyville/Cadiz/Paducah areas, but this one is by far my favorite. Robin and her husband, David, own the business. The shop is located just adjacent to their own home. When you arrive you're actually pulling into their large driveway. The outside of the shop is expertly decorated, so I knew we'd be in for a treat. Everything about this place is just cute, even it's size. It is a small shop, but five of us managed to be in there at the same time. They sell everything from vintage items and antiques to newer/modern items, jewelry, tchotchkes, trinkets, wind chimes, souvenirs, homemade jams, salsas, woodworking crafts and they can even personalize signs, coasters, etc. So cool! This would be my #1 place to find gifts if I lived in the area. They have an eye for cool things and the store is laid out beautifully. There is something to look at in every corner--they've maximized their small space, that's for sure! I love how they throw in seasonal touches--right now they have some adorable fall merchandise. Checkout the handmade wooden Candy Corn. Robin and David are extremely talented people. They do sell some of what's in their shop on Etsy. The prices in the shop are very reasonable, though. I left with a dreamcatcher, necklace and a jar of homemade salsa for $20. So wish we had found this place earlier. Eye-catching signage located off the interstate, at the end of the road the shop is located on, and at the end of the owner's driveway. Look for the 'open' sign at the end of the driveway to indicate whether or not they're open for the day. You can't miss it. They sell gift cards, too. The owners are originally from Iowa, so that makes me love this shop that much more. Will make at least an annual trip to The Running Rooster. Highly recommend.

Some locals suggested it, and since I love to shop at a unique place, off I went! I've since been in a few time and have taken colleagues, and we are all fans. The store offers a wide variety of home decor, gifts, children's items, jewelry, handbags, knickknacks, and even some foods. If you come, give yourself some time, because there's a lot to look at. In a larger city, a store like this would not be all that rare, but in Hoptown/western Kentucky, it is a true gem! Some items do seem slightly overpriced, but not unaffordable. They don't always have things I particularly want... In fact, I think I have only bought gifts for other people here... But I still look forward to shopping here. There is a parking lot out front of the small strip building Gracious Me is in, and the staff is always friend. Don't visit Hopkinsville without stopping in Gracious Me!

I prefer to buy from catalogues that offer free shipping after paying a certain amount. Touch of…read moreClass does not offer free shipping. However, the catalog sent me a 20% off coupon which was a better deal so I took a chance and ordered something I'd been admiring. The box they sent my items in was very tall which was surprising because the items I ordered were small; less than 7 inches in height. The individual items were placed in one long piece of styrofoam. While the styrofoam did help the items arrive safely, it was messy and flakey and got all over my floor which I then had to vacuum right away. Another thing about styrofoam is that it is not biodegradable. I wish they used greener shipping materials. I believe sustainability is an important value to today's consumers. The items I ordered did look like the picture. However, the material was not as expected. I decided these wouldn't work for me so I, sadly, had to return them. I called the company to get a return label. It did not come in the box. The quote seemed high so I went to the post office to see if I could get a lower price. The post office price was exactly the same and even though the weight of the items was only a few pounds, the size of the box made it more costly to ship back which I felt could have been avoided due to the size of the individual items not being very large. It would have been a mess for me to take everything out and repackage it due to the styrofoam. I inquired why they did not have discounted labels. They said that my label was discounted. I told them their discounted label was the same price as the post office. They let me know that it was a discounted FedEx label. In my situation, the FedEx price was originally more than the USPS price. There was no option to get a discounted USPS label. Shipping is also taxed with this company so that adds on to an already high shipping cost. Also, it says on their website if you get free shipping and make a return that you then have to pay for shipping again both ways so I'm glad I had the 20% off coupon instead. There are positive things about this company which I must mention. The order did arrive in a timely manner. They were very responsive to my e-mails and calls. They also were very quick to refund my money (minus the expensive shipping costs). I felt they were honest with what their policies were and they were always polite when I called them. When it comes to catalogs online, I value low cost shipping on items and returns especially since I can't see the items in person first. I'm glad I tried this company and satisfied my curiosity but due to the high cost of returning my item, I don't think I will order from them again.
