Then they increased our homeowners insurance, too and we decided to see what else was out there. Dave came highly recommended from a family member and I'm SO grateful. First, Dave was amazingly easy to work with. We did everything via e-mail due to my work schedule and availability. He was super patient with my very long delays and didn't pester me at all (amazing). Next, he answered my questions quickly and professionally. I ask a lot of questions, so this is also amazing. Last...and best...between our home and auto policies, he's saving us over $1200 this year!!! We added another driver and vehicle and it's still LESS than we were paying with other companies. The coverage is exactly the same. We've already received our new policies and cards in the mail, after less than a week! I can't thank Dave enough. If you're curious about what else is out there, just ask. It doesn't cost you a thing to shop for a better deal, and it may save you a ton!

I had insurance with American Family for about 10 years and it was through Perry Ford's Agency. I…read moredidn't have many claims, but I did check in occasionally when I needed different coverage or had questions. What I've found is that good insurance service is very local. Even though you can get insurance coverage over the internet, you really need someone you can call or talk to who knows you at least a little. It makes all the difference when you need to make a claim or just need an understanding of something...and you don't have to re-answer questions over and over...you can just go right to getting advice or help....again because he knows you. Service is where they are excellent, and the getting to know you part is what Perry does. It's not like he is nosy, but I feel that he wants to get to know his customers and over time, it felt like I was giving a friend a call....like he was in my corner and ready to help me with whatever I needed. In dealing with other insurance companies I've had they have often dropped the ball and not come through for me. Perry has always done what he says he's going to do and he's never made a mistake that I can recall...and so he earned my trust quickly. I can't recommend Perry's agency enough and I would still be with him if I had not moved out of state. That's the only reason I changed carriers. You will often see fake Yelp reviews, but this is not one of them. I am just purely a satisfied customer. Feel free to message me through Yelp if you have any questions.

I was "with" Marcy McAnally for about 7.5 years with a car and rental policy. I say "with" because…read morenever once in 7.5 years did I see her in the office, nor did she ever communicate directly with me. The office seems to have a lot of staff turnover, which probably tells you everything you need to know. My biggest complaint was how the quotes they gave were considerably less than the actual policies turned out to be. When I added an auto policy, the quote was pretty reasonable, but when they wrote the policy, it was about 7% higher than the quote I'd received a day earlier, and after I paid the first six months, they sent a follow-up asking for another $50+ because of adjustments. The final straw was when I tried to set up homeowners insurance. I was given a reasonable quote, but a day later when I went to purchase the policy, they informed me that there was a minor price increase. Turns out, it was an increase of 14%. Felt like a bait and switch. Having had enough, I cancelled my policies and found better deals elsewhere. I can't tell if it's State Farm thing, or something related to this office in particular, but I'm glad to be done with State Farm.

Two of my vehicles are registered in NC, I was told by the agent that 'that didn't matter'. In the end I was fined over $150 and threatened to have my tags revoked by the NC DMV due to my agents negligence. Agent INSISTS they did nothing wrong and the vehicles WERE legally insured. I had someone from state farm contact the NC DMV on a conference call with me and the NC DMV was VERY clear that this agent was not licensed to ensure the NC registered vehicles. Agent will not return my calls, and refuses to return my premiums? I have filed a complaint with State Farm, the BBB as well as with the State Commissioner of Insurance. I would not recommend my agent or State Farm to ANYONE. Just so the public is aware, my agent was NIck Smith out of urbana, IL. I am appalled that State Farm allows their representatives to do business in such a poor fashion. I demand that my premiums be returned, and I also think that State Farm should be responsible for the fines I have had to pay!
