She wanted a cartilage piercing and I was going to change jewelry in 8 piercings I have. I was going to get all solid gold so I was planning on spending at least, and most likely over $1000. The woman in the front was very kind and descriptive explaining the jewelry types to my sister and I but when she went to ask the piercer a question he was rude to her and basically brushed her off asking why she would need to ask another question. He then came out and was rude to me answering the question. He literally went on a rant about how my nose piercing couldn't accommodate a hoop. I've had a hoop before, but I understood where he was coming from as my nostril is pierced very high. For some reason, even though I said right away I'd be fine without ones he went on and on in a rushing and rude way about why it wouldn't work and then rushed back to the back room. I didn't get his name unfortunately. My sister and I ended up leaving because she didn't want that man piercing her and I didn't want to give so much money to and a large tip to someone so rude and dismissive of his customers and coworkers. Thanks again to the woman in the front for having such great customer service, but I will never return to this shop.

INFECTED PIERCING I…read morereally wanted to love this place, which makes me more upset about the infection and the week of antibiotics I needed after trusting them. I bought a white gold earring recommended by the piercer, which fell out after just 3 days. When I went back that day to have it reinserted, the same piercer who first recommended the earring admitted the post was "too soft". He mentioned they'd just started carrying this manufacturer's jewelry and had to add an extra bend beyond the standard one to keep it in. Worse, he reinserted the jewelry without cleaning my ear, essentially pushing bacteria into the open wound. I returned the next day because it felt off, but was dismissed and told it was fine. Four days after that, I was at Urgent Care: pain, swelling, redness spreading across my ear, warm to the touch. The doctor diagnosed me with cellulitis, removed the earring, and prescribed Ciprofloxacin. When I called to ask for a refund, the owner refused to acknowledge any fault. I understand things go wrong sometimes. What matters is how a business responds. Selling jewelry that isn't fit for purpose, skipping sanitation steps, and then dismissing a customer who ended up in urgent care is not okay. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I've gone to ruby before and my piercings were done well and healed great. She did my industrial…read moreand septum and they both healed wonderful. The problem arises when she did my right nostril. It was not pierced to match my left one that I already had. After months of trying to heal it, I decided to take it out. Ruby offered to Pierce it again for free, which was very kind of her. However, due to angling issues I decided against it and asked for an ear piercing instead. Which again, she was kind enough to do. We did a conch piercing. I thought something was wrong when I noticed a butterfly post being used for my piercing. As far as I know from my knowledge of piercings those are never used except MAYBE ON LOBES. It should have been a 16g flat back. When I asked, ruby said the butterfly post was indeed 16g, and when I changed it out once it healed I could easily put a 16g in. I decided to trust her because she's the piercer and should know better than me. After I left, looking and feeling it, compared to all of my other earrings which are 16g I realized this was no different than any normal earring butterfly back you could get at Claire's. I immediately took it out. The hole itself was at best a 20g she might have pierced me with. I don't know if she did this because it was a free piercing and she didn't want to waste her good jewelry on me, but I'm hurt. I've gone to her for now four piercings. Tipped every time. Recommended her to others. I can't say I'll do the same anymore. Needless to say it's already closed and I'll be doing elsewhere for piercings. I'm disappointed. Pics attached.

I wasn't aware it was cash-only and said I needed to run next door to the ATM. She told me if I wasn't back in 15 minutes, she wouldn't be able to do the piercing. My friend and I took maybe 5 minutes or so, returned to the shop, and proceeded to wait another 15-20 minutes. My piercing went fine, my friend's did not. She went to a different shop for a second opinion and they advised her to remove the jewelry from her nostril and allow it to heal as it was pierced at an incorrect angle. No mask worn this whole time by Ruby. And I didn't really appreciate her comment about me getting my nose pierced "on the gay side". Unnecessary, unprofessional, and rude.
