The shop has several unique, working fire extinguishers painted in various styles on display in the front window. I went to the website and saw that all of them were listed for sale at $195. I texted the number shown on a sign on the door to see how I could buy the one I wanted. I received a reply saying that the extinguishers were on sale, priced at $595, marked down from $995! I replied that the website showed the price to be $195 but did not receive a reply. I then sent a screenshot of the page showing the fire extinguishers, all with a price of $195. Still no reply. I don't know what kind of business they are running, but I don't appreciate "bait and switch" type operations. If I do get a reply admitting that they mistakenly quoted me the wrong price, and that the price advertised on their website is accurate, I will change this review. Until then... read more

I. Am. So. Happy. Olga transformed my grandparents' old couch into something of my dreams. Every other place I looked into that reupholstered furniture never had the fabric I was thinking of in my head, and I was beginning to feel like I was going to have to settle for something "close". When I met with Olga, she showed me so many beautiful and high quality fabrics that it was hard to decide which one to go with. She guided me through the selection, and was sure to show me the way the colors appeared with all possible reflections of lighting. She even stood outside with two samples I couldn't decide between. Once the fabric was chosen, we discussed different design aspects she could incorporate, and I could see she really had a seasoned eye for design. I told her I trusted her, and to do whatever she thought would look best. Even with my blessing to go bananas with the couch, she was sure to call or text me for my approval on any major design changes from its original style. As the day it would arrive got closer, I was getting nervous, as the couch belonged to my grandparents and held many years of memories and sentiment... I was afraid it would come back and not emit the same magic it did before. The moment the men arrived with the couch, I nearly cried. It was so beautiful, and so perfect. There were even two well-made and matching throw pillows I was not expecting. The setup took maybe 10 minutes tops, which was a final wrap up of the professional and easy process. The original couch and its sturdy structure was definitely honored in the reupholstery and design Olga created. The fabric is so soft and luxurious, and I've never received so many complements on a piece from guests, as well as from friends who have gotten a quick peak of it from being in the background of photos posted within my instagram stories. This company sells cheap knockoffs of actual artists. Just with a quick visit I noticed both Lauren Baker and Beau Dunn's designs cheaply knocked off. I'm sure if I looked a little closer I would find many other artists who were ripped off by these supposed designers. I don't support hacks like this, I'd rather support the actual artists. read more

I found Duroque store just by accident, was around The Abbey and stopped to have a lunch with my friend. While waiting for a friend I walked in to their store and was immidiately aproached by the owner/desighner Olga, who was extremely pleasant. After lunch I decided to schedule a consultation to see if her vision meshed with mine. I fell in love with her ideas in the first 5 minutes. After desperately searching for interior desighner I could finally take a deep breath. She has impeccable taste and I knew she was the perfect person to help decorate my new place. Olga is professional, courteous and doesn't nickel and dime me when I call her with questions. I'm so impressed with her that I think my friend is going to hire her to redecorate her new home. Olga is a delight to deal with!! This maybe THE most trendy place in LA in terms of furniture!! She has over 5000 choices (at least) of different types of covers/fabric for whatever you want!! Got a dog with headphones...flown in from France!! She will also redo your old couch and give it a face lift!! It's like plastic surgery for couches!! You won't be into it unless you're completely amazing with the best taste in the world. If you are one of the few people with a design vision always in your mind and more people than you think youmre awesome, then by all means, Duroque will be your wonderland. I have all kinds of cool shit from them such as a huge bust of Amara in pink, gold fire extinguishers, a trophy for myself in Chartreuse green, a green Zeus bust, a couple pieces of one of a kind furniture, a mirror that says "If you're easily offended, now would be the time to fuck off." 5 STARS for the amazing staff at Duroque!!! They truly made the impossible possible! My company needed a custom neon sign in a very small time frame. We called every neon sign shop in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and Pasadena. Everyone said it would be impossible to make a custom sign in less than 7 days. But Duroque did it! They worked around the clock and gave us exactly what we were looking for, and all for a really great price. I wish I could give them negative. They are over priced and unfrofessional. Hired Olga to work on our house. Let me just say that she is super sensetive and takes everything personal. It's almost her way or the highway. In addition once things go wrong, she will send you inappropriate emails on how you have disrespected her. Also once something goes wrong, you will not be able to get a hold of them unless if you drive to their store. They will not reply to your emails and/or calls. I hope they go out of business. I won't be surprised if she asked her friends to write these other 5 star reviews but the 1 star reviews NEVER lie. read more

So I wondered into this store walking by. Thanks to my girlfriend who has an obsession with anything that is "cute" and fell in love with the doggy beds that they had there. I was surprised, the quality and detail of the furniture here is incredible. The prices are on the high end of the bar but so is the quality. You can see the time and effort that goes into each piece. They also let you customize your products by picking color and material. Of course my girlfriend and her obsession JUST HAD to have one of the doggy beds, and they took credit cards so now her pooch couldn't be any happier. read more

What an incredible store and tasteful, generous, friendly people who run it! First of all, top shelf home decor - creative, classy, cool items you are unlikely to find anywhere else. But there's more. The people at Duroque also support the local community by participating in events, donating items to causes and offering discounts to help draw attention to occasions. This makes them beyond amazing in my book. :) I held an event in the city and asked local businesses to participate with discounts. Duroque did not hesitate and further offered a gorgeous mood piece, a rustic chic sign displaying the word "love" in lights, as a give-away item. This added so much to our event and ended up being the premiere - and most coveted - giveaway of the day! Absolutely awesome store and design service! I usually come here for gifts--they have really unique candles, objets d'art and pillows and wall decor that you won't find at other places, so it's a very special, no-cookie-cutter gift. They also go out of their way to package them nicely, so it's ready to go. I didn't realize that they also make custom furniture, so in addition to the really amazing stuff in the store, they can customize anything to your space. The owner, Olga, came out to our home and did a whole run through. She helped up decorate and customized a bedroom suite and part of the living room. We were able to pick fabrics and finishes and everything was delivered to our door--total white glove treatment. The quality is superb-we looked at something that was made with inferior fabric and much lighter in weight (so not substantial construction) at HD Buttercup for about twice the price, so the value is incredible for custom furniture. This place is the best! The designer who owns the store just finished our living room. I have never had a more hands-on experience in furniture. We were actually able to pick our our style for the sofa by showing her some pictures we liked, select the fabric, even the color of the heads for the tufts. We have three dogs so we can't just get any furniture--Olga showed us fabrics that look very very expensive but can actually be spot-cleaned in case of an issue. Our living room looks like a suite at a 5 star hotel now. She even came out to our house and measured the space under our big picture window in the front and we were able to order a sofa that was the perfect "fit", which is impossible to do at a regular furniture store. The stuff is made locally, so I felt really good supporting workers in LA and also making sure that it's first rate material, not some cheap stuff made in China. I really cannot say enough good things about the experience. We almost ordered from Horchow Home, which would have been not custom and about twice the price. A++++ for Olga and Duroque.
