This place knows its maket and it plays on it well. The Durning Arms may not look great from the outside but the regulars arent to fussed they know what they like in their local pub and that is exactly what they get. Their is regular karaoke which seems to be a staple of good pubs in Liverpool and add to this the fact that the drinks are cheap and you are on to a winner.
It is true that inside here the regulars can be a bit wary of someone they do not recognise but give it time and they will be friendly enough and the same goes for the bar staff who are pleasant enough even if they are in no rush to serve you.
This pub is good at what it does and located next to a bookies it even shows racing tv which is good support of another local business if ever I saw it. The regulars often place a bet then head to the pub to watch their horse falter at the last or something along those lines.
Basically this is your typical local, and who would complain Britain thrives on establishments just like this and The Durning Arms is keeping with tradition. read more
