I had a ring that was made from my grandmother's engagement ring, a marquise cut diamond, surrounded by smaller round diamonds that had been part of her wedding band. The band was too big for hand and uncomfortable to wear. I wanted the separate the diamonds into 2 rings: a solitaire ring for the marquise diamond, and a band with the remaining diamonds that I could wear with my wedding band and engagement ring. I told all my ideas to Martha and showed her pictures I had found on Pinterest. She brought out some already made rings from the case to give me ideas. I immediately picked a gorgeous solitaire setting. For the diamond band, I asked her to incorporate a few ideas including milgrain and scroll-work on the side of the band. She brought out a number of bands for me to look at and I asked about incorporating sapphires into the band. I went back and forth between a pave setting and a channel setting for the diamonds and sapphires. Martha recommended a channel setting. I decided to go with her opinion. She gave me a VERY fair price for the work. Both rings were done in white gold. I also received a credit for the original gold band. I picked up the rings 3 weeks after dropping off my old ring. They look GORGEOUS! The work is incredible. My diamonds look amazing, sparkly, so special. The work done was very sentimental to me and I know I will wear these rings for years and years to come. Try to pay in CASH! I would highly recommend Martha at Frank Vernon. The other sales lady who was there, Nancy, also seemed very nice and knowledgeable.
