Vaccination was given to my dog WITHOUT my consent while she was there for another procedure.

There is no better place than Old Salem. We've been taking our dogs there for going on 9-10 years…read more We know they are taken care of and are safe. Todd is amazing with them - all we have to do is tell them they're going to see Todd and they immediately begin to bark, run to the truck, jump in and out and do the same sorts of things when we arrive. It's a bit of a drive for us but well worth it when we pick them up and they're still happy boys. We tried a couple of other kennels with our first two German Shepherds but they just didn't quite measure up - unless Todd closes down (please NO!), he'll continue seeing the Kole dogs on a regular basis. Thank you, Todd, for such an awesome safe place for all the fur babies you've kept over the years! L. Kole

We specialize in obedience training, gundog development, and truffle dog work, working with a small number of dogs at a time to ensure focus, consistency, and quality results. Our program is designed for owners who value thoughtful training, long-term development, and a disciplined approach built on trust and follow-through. Because of the individualized nature of our work, availability is limited and placements are intentional. Old Salem Kennel is best suited for those seeking a serious, experience-driven approach rather than quick fixes or bargain training.

I am new to this area and this is one of the only places convenient to me. I had to leave on…read morebusiness for a few days and so I needed to board my 10month old puppy. This was a terrible experience for me and my dog. When I got the vets office I was not greeted at all. As I walked in with my hyper and curious puppy, purse, and in sleeting rain the staff didn't seem at all eager to help. They did seem eager enough to eat soup and piddle on Facebook. They were commenting on each others pages, other folks pages, and giggled, slurping their soup. I filled out the paperwork and the lady rudely told me that she needed records of my dog's vaccinations. I called my fiancé and he called our other vet from Atlanta to fax over the records. While I was waiting they were completely cold, eating their lunch and socializing. While I looked around in the waiting area I saw dirt on the floor, chairs unorganized, and their counters also messy. Their back office area was also extremely cluttered and messy. This was my first time in this place and I was already having a hard time leaving my rescue dog with strangers.....sue me, I'm a clingy animal mom. When the vaccination paper was finally faxed over the nicer of the two ladies took me back to where they would put my dog and I showed her a few things that were needed for her and that she needed more flea medication. I needed to run to the car to get her bed, food, and a few toys. They didn't seem to eager to old my dog for a minute or two. I felt very uncomfortable leaving her with them but I was out of options. If you live in the Lake Oconee area DO NOT patronize them. We called the vet the day after we picked up our dog and he didn't seem very sorry about our terrible experience.

The doctors there are exemplary in their treatment of their patients. The staff are courteous, friendly, and over-the-top helpful. The groomers, Ms. Ruth and her assistant do an exceptional job. When I needed to board my fur babies, they were in excellent shape upon my return and always happy to return. During the years we used Durham's it was necessary to assist two of my pets in leaving this life. Everyone was kind and compassionate and made an extremely difficult situation much easier. I can't say enough good about these people and the services they render. I only wish I could continue to use them now that I live in Texas. I will return to GA and Durham Vet Clinic for dental services in the future - it will be well worth the effort!
