Disappointing experience: the main issues I want to let potential customers know about are if you…read moreare going to buy their flagstone, ask them to clean it first so you can see what it actually looks like before you buy it. We spent about $10,000 and most of the stone turned out differently than it looked in their yard once it was cleaned. Next, they did not deliver everything on the scheduled day and did not inform us of this until after they closed for the day. They also were disrespectful and hung up on me; I never personally received an apology. Lastly, their river rock was caked in dirt and you are basically paying partially for dirt. For more detail: 1. Flagstone color: They seemed to try and help us find flagstone that would match our current pool coping: I sent pictures and they took pictures of flagstone with certain colors in their yard. They said they could send the quarry all of the pictures and the quarry would try and send flagstone that would match. Then we got a call saying the quarry couldn't do this. So we were a little frustrated because we wasted time getting all of the pictures together based on what they had told us. We decided to choose what they had in their yard because it looked like it would match. However, once we cleaned it, we realized how dirty it was and misleading color-wise. There are dark grays, black colors and yellow-orange colors that you couldn't see because it was so dirty. They knew what colors we were looking for (tan, brown, and a little copper and gray) and could have let us know that the choctaw is quite different than our current pool coping. They only told us that the choctaw has a different texture than the crab orchard. 2. River rock was extremely dirty: We ordered cougar falls river rock; once we scooped off the top layer, it was caked with dirt. They charge by the ton so part of your cost is literally dirt. We laid it on weed barrier fabric - useless - once you wash all this dirt off, where does it go? It settles on top of the fabric and gives the weeds a place to grow. We also bought some small boulders and are having trouble getting them to clean up. 3. Poor communication on delivery day: About 15 minutes after they closed on a Friday, they left a message that the second truck would not arrive that day. It was left up in the air, maybe a Saturday or Monday delivery, due to a health issue, which we completely sympathize with due to my dad's health issues, but we were surprised that they called at the end of the day after hours to inform us of this. We had no way to call back and explain the difficult situation that this put us in: we had hired help for Saturday morning and had to leave them up in the air too + we rented equipment for $400 for Sat. and Sun. only, not Monday. So, we were a bit worried and frustrated that we weren't called before they closed. 4. Disrespectful by hanging up on me: Then, Sat. morning, Eric interrupted me and hung up on me.  I was bothered, assertive and firm, but I was not rude, cursing or yelling at him. He told my husband, sorry, but not me, and that he hung up on me because he felt we were just beating a dead horse and getting nowhere.  From my perspective, I was trying to plead our case and gain his sympathy to our situation hoping that we would be made a priority for a Sat. delivery due to the circumstances I've mentioned above + we live in a neighborhood with an HOA that would not approve of us leaving 10+ pallets in the street, possibly for days.  I am having to defend myself, but in the end, he should not have hung up on me. Their remedy was no apology to me and no partial refund for any of our issues, except to reduce their restocking fee for 3 pallets of returned river rock. We will not be buying anything else from them and do not recommend them, and would like for them to partially refund us for the flagstone color and rock dirtiness issues.

We had such a great experience with Fogel's Fine Floors! Anne Helms was great to work with and…read moreprovided us expert advice from start to finish. Our floors look awesome and we couldn't be happier!! During demolition of our floors, the installer discovered shoddy workmanship of our concrete slab and advised us he would not be able to install the floors we chose. Anne came out to my house within the hour and I was able to get the exact same pattern in a different kind of flooring. The install began on a Thursday and due to our schedule, HAD to be completed by that Sunday. Since we had to get a new floor delivered to our house (which was at a warehouse in Northern Georgia) the clock was ticking. Anne had the suppliers overnight the floors which would be available for pickup on Friday morning. Tina at Fogel's Fine Floors even contacted the supplier until 10 p.m. to ensure the flooring would be available to be picked up Friday morning. The flooring did not arrive in Augusta that Friday morning and through numerous phone calls, the installer discerned the flooring was just Northeast of Atlanta. He immediately drove up to pick up the flooring as he knew if they waited, it would not be delivered until that Monday. As I mentioned, it was simply NOT an option to have the flooring installed after the weekend. The installer going to pickup the flooring was way above and beyond what was required; Anne even allowed us a little extra time to pay the difference between the floorings. This was the epitome of the fantastic service we received at Fogel's Fine Floors. I would definitely recommend using Fogel's Fine Floors for your flooring needs.

The carpeting looks fantastic, and I will absolutely go with Fogel's Fine Floors for our future needs. Thanks for a great experience!

I had just had NEW carpet installed the pervious month throu the res of my house. The tile installers cut into my carpet so deep that it could not be attached back to where it belonged. I called LL Flooring regarding this mess and they sent someone by who said he could have his carpet team stretch my NEW carpet and attach to the little metal strips, uggg. Having no choice, I agreed: a date for the following week was set with an arrival time of 12:30 PM. at noon I received a call saying the installers were running late but would be there by 2:30. At 6 PM no one had shown so I called the guy back, told him it was to late to come since I had dinner plans, he said no worry he would let the guys know and would reschedule with me. At 6:45 I got a notification on my phone that someone was ringing the door bell, I check the doorbell camera and saw 2 guys sitting on my front porch apparn waiting for me although I clearly was not home. I texted the "supervisor" to let him know his guys were at my house an no one was there: He called them and they went away. that was almost a year agar and I have yet to hear from LL Flooring or its installers. My new carpet is now just laying on the floor with nothing holding it in place making it difficult to vacuum and clean. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND using their installers and ama extremely upset with LL FLooring for not resolving this issue, not even a courtesy call to follow up!

We would not recommend Edy for a flagstone patio project. We…read moreunfortunately did not have the 5-star experience that others have had, but our experience is limited to a flagstone patio and not other handyman services. If you want stone work done, we would recommend finding a stone mason or someone that specializes in stone work; that was our mistake. We met Edy in April 2024, hired him to lay a 1000 sq ft flagstone patio and fired him in June 2024 and negotiated for a $750 refund. However, issues continued after that, and I texted him photos/videos on 7/29/24 and requested another $1250 back. He has completely ignored us. I submitted a BBB complaint and that was ignored too. Some reasons we fired him in June 2024: 1. Kept saying things and not following through: - He was late to start. - We asked him on 5/9/24 to finish by 5/24/24 and he said "don't worry, I assure you that we will complete the work before May 24." He wasn't even close to finishing on 5/24. So the date came and went and he never addressed it. - He said he would finish the job in about 2 weeks, but on week 4, the joints between the stones were not even started. - It took him so long because we felt he wasn't fully committed to our job; he had minimal workers here most of the time, even just one guy for a few days, and he was rarely here too. - Texted him on 5/13/24 asking for him to clean the stones as he went and he wrote "Yes." This did not happen. They pressured washed small areas maybe twice and then stopped. We had to scrub with acid and pressure wash to get it clean after we fired him because they left the stones such a mess. 2. They set areas with many small stones put together instead of fewer, larger stones; they didn't cut stones or chisel them like a professional stone mason would do to have thinner, consistent joints (we fixed this ourselves by chiseling up the stones and resetting fewer, larger stones that we cut to make them fit well - they should have done this!) 3. We started noticing stones popping up easily; not set fully in a mortar bed as a professional would do. We paid him $8000 and he gave us $750 back, so we paid him a net of $7250. Now, we would like another $1250 back due to further issues with the stone: 1. Big issue: inconsistent, wide joints (we've been told by other professional stone masons/contractors that the gaps between the stones are too wide and inconsistent) 2. We have been working on the patio ourselves and have had even more stones pop up easily; there was dirt underneath, meaning they didn't clean the stones off before setting them. - You can see that the mortar did not cover the entire bottom of the stone, meaning they did not set the stone fully in a proper mortar bed. - This can also be seen here: after it rained, you could see and hear water being pushed out from under the stones, meaning there are gaps under the stones and water is getting under them. 3. We discovered many cracked stones that they had set anyway or did not notice. If they had cleaned, as he said they would, they would have found the cracked stones. We again had to chisel them up and replace them. 4. We had to add mortar to gaps under the stones that you could easily see; again, no proper mortar bed. To avoid issues with cracking and settling in the future, the stones must be set fully in mortar and cover the entire bottom of the stone. We have included photos to show just a few recent examples of this. However, all of this has happened many, many times and we have had to chisel up the stones and the mortar and reset the stones ourselves, after having paid him $7250. We have had to do this with about 1/3 to 1/2 of the stones he laid and this is why we are asking for another $1250 back. This was not a quality, professional job. Again, we recommend hiring a stone mason or someone more experienced if you want stone work done.
