Also, I am a physician at in the Cambridge Health Aliance system, and wanted to go outside that system for my care so that I wouldn't encounter colleagues in the course of obtaining my care, so I picked a practice in the Mount Auburn system. I saw him for the first time last week, and was very impressed by him. It took a few months to get a new patient appointment with him, but I don't have significant health problems so that was fine. He was prompt and efficient, but quite thorough in his physical exam and review of systems (the part where they ask you questions about headaches, vision, hearing, shortness of breath, cough, etc etc). In the course of my medical training I have seen many physical exams performed on a basically healthy person that were perfunctory at best, but Dr. Shushan was methodical and complete. He had an easy manner and seemed like a nice guy, so we had a good rapport. He brought up appropriately but did not beat me over the head with what we both knew I could be doing better - diet and exercise. I felt very comfortable entrusting my care to him and if I became ill, I know he'd do a good job and treat me with dignity. My only minor complaint was with a harried nurse who was a bit short with me. After signing in by the door as a first-time patient with the staff who handled the insurance, they sent me to the waiting room, but didn't tell me I needed to check in with the folks there, so I sat down for a minute or two until a nurse came out and berated me in an annoyed voice, "You need to sign in when you get here!" I hadn't realized you needed to sign in at two separate places. She later calmed down a bit and was nicer to me once I complimented her blood-drawing skills.

I also had to wait a couple of months for an appointment as a new patient which was fine as I'm pretty healthy. His nurse was lovely and very good, and when I had my visit with him I didn't feel rushed like I've felt with other doctors in the past. Other practices treat you like cattle (sitting in various waiting rooms). He was quick to get to me once his nurse was done with the testing and did not rush through the exam. He asked me important questions to get to know me and gave me various suggestions on what to do to stay healthy. What a wonderful experience. This is how a doctor should be; knowledgeable, kind, friendly and efficient. He's my doctor from this point on!

He genuinely listened to my story and clearly explained what Ketamine therapy could do for me. Prior to that conversation I knew nothing about it but afterwards I felt comfortable enough to begin the course of treatment he recommended, and he and his office staff helped me to get an infusion appointment scheduled within a week. That included a meeting with third-party mental-health professional, as part of a screening process. I was in crisis; it is no exaggeration to say that Dr. Yee saved my life. I have continued receiving treatment from him ever since. Ketamine infusion therapy is not easy, and it's not for everyone, but it has been, by far, the most effective treatment for my major depression that I have ever had. Dr. Yee takes his commitment to my health and safety seriously, and I recommend him at the highest level of confidence, without reservation.

I first began at the clinic nearly 8 years ago, but live in Los Angeles and I cannot emphasize enough just how incredible Dr. Yee and his team are. The atmosphere of trust, comfort, and even zen within the office are immediately felt and so appreciated. I have tried two different clinics in LA and nothing compares to Boston MindCare!! Also, Dr. Yee is one of those rare physicians who actually takes time to answer patient's questions and does not rush or make you feel like you're inconveniencing him (compared to two doctors I have tried in LA who literally won't give more than 3-5 minutes of their time). I am eternally grateful to Dr. Yee, Stephanie, Nancy, and the entire team for guiding me on my journey towards a happy, healthier life. And due to the exceptional care I have now been depression free for over 2 1/2 years!! Thank you Dr. Yee for all that you do. And for anyone who is looking to begin Ketamine treatments, don't hesitate to make an appointment!

I was seeing her for a recurring issue which she assured me she would be able to tackle after I explained that I had seen many gynos for this same condition and didn't want to be put on the same meds again. she said she would work with me to figure out a different approach and then never did. After the first appointment she told me she would do some more research on new meds and alternative treatments for my symptoms, but the second appointment rolled around, and she started the appointment with "why are you here again?" she didn't remember me and also failed to read my paperwork beforehand or do the research she meant to do-- she asked me if I had my year exam and I said yes I literally just had it done with her the week before. she started to piece it together and said she would do the research she previously promised and get back to me-- this went on for multiple appointments-- all of which I was fully charged for which was very upsetting-- i felt like I was being strung along, she'd book another appointment and fail to have any answers by the time it would roll around just to ask me to book another one. she was very kind but ultimately unhelpful and unprofessional. I also want to add that the portal system they use is really convoluted and confusing, messages I sent through the portal often were not responded to, and on the flip side I happened to have an outstanding balance on there that I was never notified about (no phone, email, or text reminders!) other than it just sitting there under a different tab which also felt kind of strange.
