This flat trail is well maintained and used by bikers, runners, walkers and dog walkers. At a distance of approximately 7 miles in one direction, it is my favorite route to run near my house. The trail connects a few parks. You can stop and eat at picnic tables or use the new canoe launch to paddle down the river. This trail now runs all the way to Waldon Lake in Bolingbrook. I used to always hop on near Bailey and Washington and go south toward Ring Road, but the newer arm of the trail going north under 75th and to downtown Naperville is also great. I'm not sure if it's still considered part of the DuPage River Trail when you cross Washington at Ring Road and go back through Knoch Knolls Park, but either way, it's a convenient connecting trail that traces all the way back to Whalon Lake and makes for a compelling bike ride/long run route. I take advantage of this trail as much as I can when I'm back visiting in Napes.

Busy roads make it kind of noisy but that's typical of many parks around here. There's also athletic facilities on the other side of Washington Street from the main part. Good place to go on a bicycle. It looks like a pretty nondescript park, as far as parks around here. The park is at the intersection of Royce and Washington. It has a few trails connecting to other parks around here. This is also close to Whalon Lake. It has some wide open grassy areas. There's trees but not a lot. Across the street are athletic fields. This is also the location of parking. Business picks up when there's a youth sports league. There's baseball, soccer, and more. Busy roads are the bad thing about it. It also only has parking on the side with the athletic facilities so it means you have to cross the street to get to the main part. Trails connect it to Whalon Lake and other parks, great for bicycling and stuff.

They…read morehave all levels from house to club and also do private lessons which was big deciding factor for us. She decided to play a little older than a lot of girls so we obviously weren't looking for a club team, we wanted a house team to see if she would enjoy the sport and then if so we could do private lessons to help get her up to speed quickly. It worked out perfectly, she's now on at the club level and really enjoying it. The bigger thing is how much my child enjoys her time at Eichs as a parent, she loves coming and going. The staff is always looking out for the kids 1st and it shows, their approach has built up her confidence as well as her skill. If your looking to get your child into this sport this is a great place to start and grow. We have played house, beach, and now club as well as the private lessons and super pleased, go check them out and see for yourself.

The families at Eich's are great and make the Eichs experience great. Problem is that Eichs has…read moreabsolutely no ethics. They will make a ton of promises and never follow through with them yet take your money. We signed up for club for $1100 and about $1800 total later, my daughter was put on a team where the coach had no real club experience and the team was created from grabbing people off of the street literally. Parents were ready to pay but the girls had no interest and very little experience. Tournaments consisted of a silent coach that gave no feedback or direction and girls goofing off on the court, standing still, or rolling their eyes when a ball came close to them. The only points my daughters Eichs team made was from the other team's errors. Eichs hides when any conflict arises and then buries you in more lies. They invested in a new VB court when their batting business tanked but the court is too low to have a solid practice on it yet the club experience is on that court while rec teams have the proper courts. The air conditioning is only on when parents are around. Think about summer practices and open gym before you drop your kids off.

The splash pad is perfect for little kids who tend to run and take off because the splash pad is completely fenced in. There are also separate bathroom facilities just for the splash pad. The only bummer is that the splash pad is on concrete and doesn't have the rubber.

This is a very well-maintained forest preserve and Plainfield Park District cares a lot about maintaining the area. The ONLY downside is that I can't visit here from about June until early August because the mosquitos are plentiful, which is to be expected in a rather damp forest. I've seen owls, hawks, squirrels, chipmunks and deer here.
