Location: Right next to Tide & Boar - it's owned by the same people. Street parking is available but metered except on weekends. The place: It's got a super chill vibe - the facade is all window so you get some great natural light. Seating space is limited but we went at two different times, on two different days and were able to sit down. The goods: Both times, I ordered a latte with almond milk and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a nice little spot if you're looking for a 3rd wave coffee place. I tried the double (or triple?) chocolate cookie and that was a miss for me. It didn't taste anything like chocolate - more like sugar. Service: Good. Price point: About $5 for a large latte. read more

Duo Cafe is a charming little cafe located on main Street. It's attached and owned by the same people as Tide and Boar. I love the rustic modern look with the brick wall and interesting artwork. I also love their window art with plants and cactuses. The two girls working were very sweet and what I thought was helpful. I asked what was vegan and she told me "the soups I'd 100 percent vegan but the curry mango jackfruit was vegan but the bun was not." Which really confused me since on their board it said "feat. Vegan" so I asked her why it would be under featured vegan if the bun was not. She responded "don't even get me started, I keep telling them they shouldn't do that." So of course this really confused me and annoyed me. I ended up just ordering two soy chai lattes (one with coffee, the other without). The latte itself wasn't very flavourful, the barista told me to bring it back over if it wasn't sweet enough. I did that but still found it bland. Also it was quite watery versus other lattes I have had. When I left I wrote on the local vegan group on Facebook with my concerns. One man was really upset so he wrote Duo Cafe where they ensured that the buns were indeed vegan. So I guess my main thing now is, they need some training by the sounds of it. Sadly, I can't say I will ever go back from my experience. Seems they need to make sure staff understands what's vegan. read more

Attached to tide and boar the restaurant is a cute little café called Duo! They play final records with great music but not too loud so you were able to work at one of the tables in the café. Really delicious coffee comes in mugs just the right size - cosy atmosphere and super friendly folks work here - I am a coffee shop fanatic and this one's a goodie ! read more

Great cafe. Awesome mocha cappuccino! Ever since Starbucks's went from syrup chocolate to powdered chocolate (add water to make syrup), I haven't found a great mocha cappucino. DUO's mocha cappuccino is now my best anywhere. I may add an extra expresso shot for the oumph! And there chocolate chip and/or peanut butter cookies are so very good. Cute find this place is. read more

Loved the place! Pier, the bar tender Pierre was a great host. The food is from Tide & Bore and the wine and craft beer is their own. An eloquent offering and a pleasure to visit. read more

The also double as a coffee shop during the day, and with their patio available all summer long, it's a great place to hang out and relax anytime. And being open 10am-2am, 7 days a week, you can almost always bank on their being open. My only complaint is the lack of wi-fi, which would make especially afternoon visits, during lunch or working out of the shop, that much more common. I do understand the owner's wish to keep it a social place and avoid some of the inadvertent (or deliberate) loitering that can happen when you offer that service.
