He's a great teacher, he made sure we had a blast but also made sure we went home with some new skills. I looked around for a basic tactical driving class, but only really found classes that appeared to be targeted toward professional stunt drivers, not moms who drive an automatic minivan, or experiences that are driving really fast in circles, which also wasn't really what I was looking for. On a lark, I reached out to Scotty to see if he could tailor a fun / private lesson for me and my husband for a day. From the beginning, Scotty was so welcoming and enthusiastic. I told him what I wanted to experience (learning non-standard / basic movie driving skills in a safe and educational environment) and he designed a day that got me to that goal. He is very focused on his students and their individual goals / boundaries. We drove Crown Vics in an abandoned parking lot with walkie talkie radios to keep us on task. It was great to work in a setting like that - after all there are curbs and trees in the real world too - and after an initial assessment we proceeded through several exercises. It took me a while to get past 30 years of conditioning to drive "cautiously", but by the end of the day, I was flooring it in the parking lot and using the hydraulic emergency brake, reversing without turning around, and burning rubber in a circle. Scotty's teaching style was positive and encouraging. He is truly passionate about teaching everyone at every level how to improve their driving and understanding of cars and the road in general. It was energizing to have the knowledge "click" and be able to touch (but not knock down) a cone with the tail of my car after doing a 180. Scotty's Driving School taught me a lot and I'd recommend it to anyone with a sense of adventure who wants to get better behind the wheel. It's not inexpensive, but if you consider the cost of tires (not for your car - for his) and insurance, it makes sense why it's a bit costly. I also have a much deeper appreciation of all the movie driving scenes! Highly recommend for a fun day!

The office staff is absolutely abhorrent! Every single interaction I've had with any of the women…read moreworking in that office has been unpleasant. It's as if the district required absolutely no knowledge of common courtesy when dealing with the public when these women were hired. A few tips- when someone enters the office you greet every single person with a smile and a good morning, a good afternoon, etc. I've observed them rudely ask visitors for an id. Example " if you haven't been checked in we need your ID" next person who was not in hearing range of the initial id announcement walks up and is waiting to be acknowledged. The woman at the desk says " I need your id " no " good afternoon may I see your ID please?" Then the person is waiting once ID is checked the woman looks up annoyed and says " you can go" Correct thing to have done would be hand the person their id and say " you're all checked in! You may go" Aside from that hot mess in the office I've had great experiences with the teachers at this school. My son has attended since 2020 when he started Kindergarten through distance learning. This year we got extremely lucky with his teacher- absolutely love how she does things and her communication.

The academics at this school are pretty good. Great Schools gives it an 8, based on its test…read morescores. So that makes it one of the best schools in Victorville. That and its proximity to Spring Valley Lake are about the only reason why my daughter attends here. My daughter has also been pretty happy with the 2 teachers she's had so far. She's attended for 2 years. The support staff in the office, however, are complete shit. Almost all of the women (I haven't seen any men), who are the public facing folks, such as "Annette" are rude, condescending and lazy types, who are not helpful in the least. In fact their demeanor is that you are bothering them if you call or come in, inquiring about any information. Basically, one gets the impression that they don't want to be bothered or go out of their way for anyone. Fortunately, it's not usually necessary to have much interaction with these people. Picking up and dropping off your child/children at this school is another matter and a nightmare at best. The school was built with a minimal amount of parking spaces. I'm sure the VESD wanted to save money. So one cannot park his/her car, get out of their car and get their child very easily. If you do wish to do this, it requires parking in a vacant, dirt lot, across the street, trying not to get run over and dodging cars back and forth to your car. The other option is the line of cars idling and wrapped around the school, that most parents or caregivers wait in to pick up the kids. I couldn't imagine what the carbon footprint would be for all those cars that are running and sitting for extended periods of time, until they get to move up to the front of the line.
