My family and I are leaving the area and are bummed that we won't have Dr. Otis as our vet anymore…read more Dr. Otis was the best vet I've worked with, across six different dogs in two states. He was kind, compassionate, careful, knowledgeable, and easy to talk with about my dog's issues. He always found the right treatment and the right amount of treatment and paid special attention to my dog's condition through time. He remembered us and wasn't just treating the patient who was in his room at a given moment, but instead remembered our dog, her history, and took care of her through time. He's the best vet I've ever had the pleasure of working with and I would highly, highly recommend him to everyone.

This vet office is owned by the same bad business owner as Washington County Vet Hospital, and…read morepossibly others. They fail to deliver on every front. They rush you, blame you and are untrained in every way, including staff and vets. They belittle, are condescending and would rather cause you stress than be helpful. They do not read prior notes even when in their system and try to overdose dogs. They are using AI note taking instead of typing out on a computer, and the system doesn't record if they do pull-up notes on the computer. They are forming a monopoly in the state and it needs to be addressed. Sad to see poor management causes bad service for animals, whom they claim to care about. They have low rating on Yelp and have red flags all over the place. Do not come to one of these practices.

Dr. Lorenson attended a same day house call to put my Lhasa apso down that I had for 15.5 years…read more She was so compassionate and explained everything from start to finish. I wish I could repay her in some way for making the experience as special as it could be. During a huge Covid surge my entire family was able to say goodbye to our loving Jeter in the comfort of his own home. I can never thank you enough for your compassionate care. You are one special human! The amount of time and thought that went into the presentation of his paw prints and clay print is mind blowing. I'm so happy with everything and have wonderful memories to look back on. I can't thank you enough.

We had Dr. Serra be Albi's "main" vet, and even though we clashed in our methods and ways at first,…read moreI got to learn that he really is just trying to do his job (and let's be real, I am not a DVM). I took my GSD here where had gotten diagnosed with perianal fistulae, which ended up with a pretty grim prognosis as to what would happen to him. Dr. Serra changed his diet and gave him the first line defense medications for PFs (metronidazole, prednisone). Albi had 2 more visits afterwards that proved that we would need some heavy stuff to get him better, but on our last visit Dr. Serra had a really amazing moment where he had found a study that proved Protopic (study I had found before as well but decided not to step on his toes) would be helpful, and he also had a pamphlet on the medication on his desk that was mailed to him by chance. So he put him on it, and it made me incredibly happy that he noticed when something new needed to be tried. Albi eventually got better thanks to work from a conventional vet who also worked with traditional chinese herbal medicine (Dr. Stephanie Torlone), as well as a holistic vet (Dr. Sharon Doolittle). But Dr. Serra helped us with what he knew, and he really became helpful with figuring out how to treat Albi with the cheapest drugs possible (if it was possible!). I should point out - Dr. Serra was the only vet in RI a few years back to successfully treat and cure a patient with leptospirosis, and he is known in the region for being an excellent vet. I was pointed in his direction by a vet student, and if I was for all conventional medicine, I'd still be with him (he didn't seem to keen on holistic medicine when I asked him). But my dog proved to me that sometimes a blend of mother nature and conventional is what will get a patient back to good health. Also in the office is Dr. White - a few years back, Albi got really bad diarrhea from eating a hot dog at an outdoor party, and he was very good. He helped explain what was going on with him, what the meds were and why, and then he took the time to show us how to taper the rice and chicken mix we had to put him on. So overall, you had a good chance with whomever you get here.

She is also friendly, kind, explains issues so I understand them, and answers my questions cheerfully. Also, there were times with my dog, Sammy, was ill and needed tests.
