We've gone to Dunn Bros for years but the last 2 times eating there have been bad. Today, I had to clean off a table. Our orders came out all at different times. My husband was done eating before my son received his. Mine didn't come out for even longer so I asked for it to go. My coffee was luke warm. When I got home, my breakfast sandwich had no egg in it! They were clearly understaffed with only 2 young workers trying to keep up with quite a few people coming in plus the drive through. You can't expect your staff to do a good job under those working conditions. We know this store can do better. read more

My review is solely based on the build your own breakfast sandwich quality between 2022, and 2023. Same sandwich, just over a year apart difference (minus the cheese). The first photo was taken April 2022. Back then, I would have told you that was the best breakfast sandwich to buy in Alexandria and given it 5 stars no questions asked. Real bacon and avocado. It was such a good sandwich. I couldn't stop thinking about it today and had to go back hoping I'd get the same thing... boy was I wrong . Second picture was taken this morning and ended up costing $9.34! Ouch. Super thin, warm-up style bacon you'd get in a gas station and over ripe avocado spread instead. Very disappointing for almost $10. Should have known it would be more expensive and of lesser quality like most things now. read more

I have come here for years, I absolutely love the coffee and have always enjoyed the service and atmosphere. I tried their avocado toast for the first time and let me tell you it was a revelation!!! You know when you eat something and you can hear music? That was me that day! I expected bland flavor and was just looking to fill my tummy but boy was I ever wrong! The texture and combination of the ingredients made it one of the best mouthfuls of my life and certainly the best Avocado toast I have ever had in my life! We hit the drive thru on our way out of town, after a night in a hotel close by. Our order was 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 coffees, straight from the menu, no special requests. It ran $26, which is pretty standard for our road trip coffee stops with breakfast, at a decent hipster joint... which this was not. What we got was 1 of 4 items as ordered... the ONLY correct item was a nitro coffee - plain. The vanilla nirvana was a nitro with vanilla syrup, the 2 egg & avocado biscuits came out as still cold bacon, egg & cheese on super dark biscuits. I mean, at this point we could have done better at the gas station nuking it ourselves... sigh. It was a frustratingly disgusting way to start the day on the road. I'll be sure to skip it next time. They got our orders completely wrong and the drinks were either too strong or too sweet. They also forgot to put half of the items in the bag, but they made sure to charge us for them. Too bad I was on the road already when I noticed or I would have gone back. It's not worth the time or money to go here. read more

I am VERY unhappy with our local Dun Brothers. They only offer two or three roasts now. The shelves where they used to keeps their fresh coffee has been mover to the side next to their bathrooms in the corner. The roasted coffee NEVER tastes the same twice...it's as if whoever happened to come to work that day was the "roaster." The "food" is old and usually stale. They no longer offer a discount on coffee beans if you buy several pounds. The employees have no idea about anything related to coffee...you only get a blank look if you ask a question. It looks as if they are getting ready to close it's doors! When Bill owned it there were NEVER these kind of problems!!!!!! They have lost their way in the world of great coffee!!! Have always been a Caribou fan, but went to Dunn today. Had a breakfast sandwich and much unlike Caribou, all their ingredients are made fresh the day you get them. Fresh eggs, toasted muffin (not microwaved to 1500 degrees). What a treat! Well done Dunn! You will be my 'go to' from now on!! read more

LOVE their coffee, I think it's the best flavor in town. Very friendly staff... but wish their drive through would move quicker. I used to stop by weekly before work, but couldn't count on consistent or predictable DT speed. That's the only thing missing at this place. read more

I usually get cream and sugar in my coffee, but I almost feel like I'm cheating myself when you get coffee here. Loved the Guatemalan Dark roast they offered, it has the complexities of a wine that you just don't get from coffee places. Next time, I'm getting it black. This place beats Starbucks hands down. Very solid coffee cafe. I had a nice cup of strong dark roast, and a breakfast burrito (don't judge) that was surprisingly good. They have s nice selection of hot breakfast sandwiches, and your standard coffee selection. Pickens are slim in Alexandra, this is your coffee and breakfast spot. read more

The two girls working were so kind and sweet! They had a nice sense of humor and were very friendly. I love this location because they have a toaster for your bagels! Great coffee! Many different and specific coffee beans from around the world. All the coffees are roasted, with artistry, on site. Local Alexandria owner. Baristas are friendly and helpful. Been stopping her for a couple of years and never been disappointed. Also have great croissant sandwiches which are a good value! And new on site bakery. read more
