This isn't just a wine supply store. They have a huge pick-your-own cherry orchard!…read more For many years now, I have been going here with my wife and her family. It's an Independence Day tradition. I know Walkers is known nationwide for their wine juice, but the cherry orchard is vast and not to be discounted. Aside from the one year that the Amish showed up and bought the entire harvest, there is always good pickings here. Around Independence Day weekend, the trees are bountiful, especially the sours. Between the four of us, we came out with 43 pounds last year. We reigned it in and only took 27 pounds this year. We eat them fresh or freeze them to make pies throughout the year. And like all respectable farm stands, there are bored teens working the booth. It's good wholesome fun. Long Live Walkers. Pro Tip: Know that the pitting machine will only get 50% of the pits, so don't put the cherries straight into a pie. You'll need to do your own pitting run when you get home.

This is a family operation and all the employees are super friendly and helpful. Believe me, it would be easy to get impatient with us, because, while we are really nice people, we invariably get 10 varieties of juice (or more!) in 2 dozen 5-gallon carboys. It takes a while to write up our order, and quite a while to fill the carboys. Everyone is always really cheerful and they even joke around with us! Along with juices, the Walkers have fruit (baskets of grapes, apples etc), honey from their bees, and delicious fudge in 8 or so varieties! But don't ask what's in their juice blend for rose wine. It's a family secret! :) Oh, and they even ship their juice via UPS. IMPORTANT: Remember to bring cash or a check because they don't accept credit/debit cards.

Not only was BBF hosting their own business but they additionally had a back space open with additional vendors and BBQ. Parking is located on the side of the building in a shared lot, watch for a large pot hole near the street. The entrance is located on the street side and has a step. COVID protocols are in effect, hand sanitizer provided at the door, wear your mask and try to follow the floor signs which is hard to do because there is so much to look at. You will find a variety of items available, from yard stands, desk/shelf/any space decor, wall signs and much more. All of these items are quality crafted and really affordable prices! They of course have many Buffalo/WNY themes however you can also find superhero and holiday goods as well. Opposed to try to describe everything I recommend checking out their website and photos. If looking to support a small business and local artist this is a must see! Additionally you can do custom orders!

Review is for customer service & True Believer IPA that I picked up. I didn't really experience…read morethe actual brewery as they were having an Oktoberfest event when I dropped by. Place was quite busy when I stopped by on a random Saturday. I was intending on stopping by for a flight/pint, but the brewery was having an Oktoberfest event, so I just picked up a 4-pack/bottle from their bottle shop. There was a long line since Oktoberfest goers had to get their pours from the same line that I was in. Even though they were busy, the owner (??) did stop by and gave me a quick lowdown on each bottle/can that I picked up. A lot of them seemed to be sours which I do not like, so I'm glad that he told me! Fridge was quite SMALL and dark, adjacent to the bar, so the lighting wasn't the best. Listing of the items could've been more descriptive, eg. IPA, Sour, etc. And you can't buy individual cans, so I had to pickup a 4-pack. I picked up a bottle of Wax Poetic and although fruity, it was a sour. :( I really like True Believer which is an IPA! Although it looks big from the exterior, the bar/bottle shop area is quite small in comparison. I'd definitely stop by again on a regular day.

Short Finger Brewing is a homebrewing supply shop located in Kitchener. It's a bit tucked away on a side street but was pretty easy to find and has a pretty cool setup. They offer everything you could need to turn your kitchen into a beer brewing facility, including the actual brewing equipment including kettles, carboys, funnels, hosing, and everything else one would have to buy, in addition to all the grains, hops and yeasts needed from an ingredient perspective. I was really impressed with their actual walk in freezer used to store hops. So many selections to choose from, and I was also pretty pleased that I managed to find Galaxy hops in stock (sold out at both Toronto homebrew supply shops at the time). The staff are super friendly and willing to give recommendations (I'll be trying a new yeast out this weekend because of them), and they also do things to help the community like events including bottle swaps. As someone who is excited to see the Ontario homebrewing world get bigger, it's good to see a solid shop like this in K-town. While I'm not in the city often anymore, I'll still be making a point to stop in when possible.
