Fourth time at Dunkin' this week.

We run on Dunkin'! This was an immediate and quick go-to before our drive to Des Moines. It's nearly 2 p.m. and we were craving some breakfast food. Why not quickly pop in. Our cashier was so sweet that my husband and I debated asking her if she wanted to be our friend-- crazy, I know. We each had a Long John and Sweet Maple Bacon Sandwich on sourdough bread. It was delicious and we had fast service. We sat in the store and enjoyed our food to some jazzy Duke Ellington Christmas tunes. This was a major win for our Saturday afternoon. Thanks Dunkin'!

    "Large" hot macchiato

My large coffee was only filled to a medium size. Even with the foam. Dont waste your money on a large size and just get a full medium.

I like basic donuts. Glazed, vanilla frosted w/ sprinkles, chocolate frosted chocolate cake, strawberry frosted.

Ok so I've never had a bad experience here. But I've never been like, "Damn-- I couldn't live without this." My favorite thing on their menu is an iced macchiato. There's is so good, no flavors needed. My husband adores their iced coffee. I learned there's a reason why their iced coffees are so damn good. They double brew them. Twice the amount of coffee = never watered down! So Dunkin has a lot of donuts... over 70 live on menus around the country. Each store offers different ones obviously. I like the no frills chocolate munchkins personally-- but all of the donuts on their menu (regardless of size) hit the spot without being too dense or decadent. This location has good pricing, a quick drive thru-- ok service and it's own light to get on the strip. It's not the best coffee or donut in town but I'd leave with an iced macchiato and chocolate munchkins any day!? Plus, my kids always think I'm the coolest when we indulge at Dunkins!

This is a medium! It's a lot taller than my phone

Delicious donuts and great happy hour. Also the drinks are larger than I thought they would be, which is always a plus because who can say no to more caffeine? The only reason I'm docking a star is for the service. I just hope the employees were a bit more friendly and quicker. I stopped by one day for a mobile order and wasn't greeted by anyone. I also had to initiate the conversation to confirm that I was picking up the correct order and not picking up someone else's.

When the employee handed me my drink through the drive-through window after I paid, something looked a little off but I still pulled away and into a parking space.

The space itself is large and looks to be separated into two halves. I entered on the one side, ordered at the counter, just like you would at any coffee shop and waited. This place serves a full-service breakfast as well if you're looking for something more substantial (eggs, panini's, pancakes, etc..). I was just here picking up and bringing it back to our room. The coffees were fine, but there was only one gentleman working the counter, and he was a bit overwhelmed. He forewarned me that he had 4-5 drinks ahead of mine, so I ended up sitting there waiting for about 15 minutes for our two drinks. I wasn't pressed for time today, but if I was, this would've been an issue. I ordered a raspberry chocolate scone and a cinnamon roll. The scone was delicious. Not too sweet and was definitely made this morning. The cinnamon roll was delicious as well, but it was extremely sweet. To the point where it hurt your teeth. It would also have been better if it were warmed up. Lastly, they gave me this big cinnamon roll in a bag without any napkins or utensils?!? I had to stop at the free breakfast at our hotel to get a fork, knife and some napkins. So kind of a mixed-bag at the Encounter Cafe. I would give it another shot and try some other things, but it didn't blow me away.

The first day I had baked oatmeal with yogurt and it was a huge portion size that was very similar to coffee cake. The next day, I ordered the avocado toast and was surprised to see it come out, layered with egg and bacon and fresh tomato. Their lattes were delicious without being overly sweet. So glad I found this place during my trip. It is worth the stop.

The late hours here makes for a great alternative to the hubbub at Java House and there's usually parking easily found here. Great coffee, Kickapoo from Wisconsin, and americanos! I've been working my way through the loose-tea menu. Earl Grey is a staple for me and the blend here has a strong flavor. The Rooibos Chai is very good and doesn't have the Rooibos after taste that my tastebuds do not like. My only recommendation would be a dish to hold the leaves after an adequate amount of steeping time. I've taken to using the to-go coffee lids to hold the mesh strainer and tea leaves. I haven't had a chance to partake in the beer and wine selection, but hope to soon. There is a quite and extensive list to choose from! Staff has always been friendly and the background music perfect in the evenings. I love that the tables are larger than the usual small cafe tables. I can have a giant textbook and a notebook spread out while working. The loveseat in front of the fireplace is popular. One of these days i'll get to enjoy with a good book and a cup of coffee.

Service: No complaints on the service. The shop wasn't too busy so our order came out as expected with little wait! Ambiance: The location is unique - located in a neighborhood amongst what appears to be primarily college housing units. The building itself is really cool - albeit, quite small - and is decorated/themed with a lot of intention. The shop has a retro vibe with a VCR tape collection, nostalgic children games, and other late '90s / early '00s antiques lining the walls.
