Went to Dunham's in search of a hunting blind that was on sale. Nice display, clean store, but the blind we were considering was hung from the ceiling which made it impossible for us to read the tag. We tried to find a store associate to help. Yes they are short on employees (why work when the gov't. will throw money at you) but with only a few cars in the lot there should have been enough to cover. Looked at my watch. Other customers came to the back of the store and waited for help. 20 minutes passed and I PHONED THE STORE to ask for someone to come help all of us. 15 minutes later I phoned again and was told someone should have come back. I got rude, because no one should have to wait in a ghost town. The phone guy hung up on me. In the meantime other customers came and left because they couldn't get service. Some just let their items lay wherever. Eventually 2 people strolled back to us. No hurry whatsoever, and made a concerted effort to walk past us down another aisle. I call BS. Yes I was rude but not vulgar. One thing I really dislike in service people is a condescending attitude and they had it in spades. Oh, and they didn't have the sale blind that we wanted. We still bought one, but it's doubtful we'll ever set foot in a Dunham's again. 45 minutes total waiting for someone to acknowledge our presence then act like they are too good to talk to us. We work hard for our money and other stores would gladly have us spend it with them. read more
