I have a nose for books. And I'm a bit of a book whore. Plus I'm broke. The good part about all that is that I can smell out a good used book shop at 100 paces, saving myself zillions in new-book costs.
So when I found myself in Killarney with nothing to read and only a few quid in my pocket, I followed my nose to the Dungeon in the same way a starving man follows his to a steakhouse. Or broke country finds the IMF.
The bonus of a place like the Dungeon is that the books are JUST organized enough to make a degree of sense, and yet there are far more books than shelves, so there are boxes and stacks and piles along the floor and against the walls. So a book whore can spend hours happily digging around the "Sci Fi" or "Fantasy" sections discovering new talents that are recent best sellers or old friends that he's been meaning to hang out with again, and prices are low enough that one doesn't have to feel guilty picking up a few of each.
The staff was wonderful, very tolerant of me hanging around for awhile, and I found some excellent deals.
Bottom Line: Don't bother me, I'm reading. read more
