Someday soon I am going to write a novel about my travels on the Dungeness Line to Seattle/SEATAC…read more Someday I am going to chronicle stories from the different travelers who board the Dungeness line from Port Townsend Park'n RIde for the 6:30AM trip. connecting with the bus from Port Angeles/Sequim at Fat Smitty's Restaurant for the journey to SEATAC. (Arrival: 9:50 AM) You heard that right "Fat Smitty's." There's a story for another time there But about the Crabby Line, I mean, the Dungeness Line: Not only are the travelers a diverse lot, but the Olympic/Dungeness bus drivers are a Hoot (Not to be confused with a Hootenanny) There would be Bruce (who likes classical music), Wayne (who tells some very amusing jokes), WIlly Nelson (no, not *that* WIlly Nelson but this one could pass) and a host of other drivers, each one more helpful, friendly and competent than the next. There would be the complementary chocolate chip cookies on every trip (from "Lovin' Spoonful in Port Angeles.) There would be the bottle of water offered as you board, "but we have a long way to go to the restroom on the ferry, so drink responsibly." And there would be the free wi-fi, the cushy bus seats, and the ability to off-board on the Kingston-Edmonton ferry for the journey across "the magnificent Puget Sound." All in all, a bargain with roundtrip costing about half the price of comparable transportation from Port Townsend to SEATAC. No parking worries, no driving into a snow drift, no fears that your portal-to-portal driver is gonna forget you. (Listen up, rival bus line, THIS MEANS YOU!) And (of course) the ability to collect mucho material for that Great American Novel. Which I will be writing. Soon. Unless you beat me to it. Thanks, Dungeness! And Olympic Bus Lines, of course. See you soon on the road less traveled.... to Port Townsend, Sequim, Port Angeles. at Gate 00, SEATAC Thanks for the lift, Dungeness!

Beautiful view from our room! Our room was clean and spacious. Nice size bathroom. It has a small area with a sink and cabinet. Coffee maker, tiny fridge and microwave! Everything we needed for our stay. Heated pool and Hot tub! Very nice! Good WiFi too! I really enjoyed staying here! It was close to nice restaurants, a golf course and close to the ferry to Canada! The only thing that was a disappointment was the Free breakfast didn't have the basic scrabbled eggs, bacon or sausage. The only eggs they served was cold hard boiled eggs. I opted for yogurt for my protein. Coffee was good. They had a waffle maker and lots of bagels, toast, english muffins, cereal all the basics but no warm eggs , bacon , sausage or hash browns :( Overall my stay was great! I would stay here again.

The Olympic Lodge was the hotel for us when visiting Olympic National Park. They are part of the…read moreAyres Hotel chain in Southern California with this being one of the only non-Southern California locations. They are located on the outskirts of Port Angeles by the golf course. They are very close to the park itself and makes for a great place to stay when visiting the park. We reserved a 2 queen room with a golf course view months in advance. They gave us a room on the second floor. The room was nice and cozy. The 2 queen rooms have a nice sized bathroom with a tub/shower combo. My wife and daughter did complain about with the soap and shampoo for their shower. It has been a while since we've seen a bar of soap as most hotels use body wash now. The shampoo is a shampoo and conditioner combo. They did not like the soap or shampoo. Breakfast is served downstairs. It was continental breakfast only. No meats. Just waffles, toast, cereals, juice and coffee. It was good enough for the 2 days that we stayed there. They do have an exercise room with treadmills, ellipticals and dumbbells for you to lift. It was less equipment than at some other hotels, but it was enough for you to get a good workout. This might be the best hotel in Port Angeles. You don't have much of a choice. If you visit Port Angeles and want a nicer hotel, this is the place.

I never expected him to be available that same day and on a weekend, no less, but he was there with a coworker within 3 hours. Umar gave me timely updates until they arrived. They were both friendly, efficient and careful with our belongings. Their pricing was fair, too. I highly recommend this crew.
