The rock yard staff was amazing and helpful even during the last 15 min before closing for the night. Very helpful and fast. We appreciated it and were able to finish our project Saturday evening vs Sunday! Thanks!! We were looking at other plants for our yard, but a few exotic bushes were $300. Never enough help at the registers. Never ever. Today they had a HUGE sign outside "Pottery 30% off". So I asked for the discount and was told the sign meant for pots only. That is not what the sign said so make it right and fix your signage. Pottery is any ceramic ware. Not just pots. After escalating up to the store manager, Melissa, she talked down to me and finally reluctantly gave me the discount along with the huff and puff of her attitude. I spend $700 each summer and she just lost my future business. A simple acknowledgement of the issue, a kind "sure, let me get you that and thanks for bringing it to my attention- we will better word that sign" would have been the better strategy, don't you think? I've been coming to Dundee for floral needs for about 1 year now. I like that they feel local & carry that personal touch compared to the big box stores like Lowes or Home Depot where you can get floral supplies too. Two weeks ago I came here to get my front entry planters spruced up for Christmas, like any good suburban basic mom would at this time of year. I've never created Winter planters before, so I was a little worried. Thankfully, someone from their staff was there to answer questions and direct me from my blind purchases. I bought all the necessary supplies & then went inside to grab some pots. Their floral personal helped me handpick each pot I needed, for my succulents at home. She was patient, took her time with me & I was glad to have her guidance so I didn't drown my plant. I gave them 4 stars because I do get sticker shock when I shop here. I spent about $100 on my planter supplies. Ouch. I tell myself that the price is higher because they are a smaller operation than those big box stores & hopefully pay their people a bit more than most. I went home and created my planters & they turned out GREAT. If the prices were a bit more reasonable, I would give them 5 stars. read more

Terrible service and no assistance. I bought a tree last year and it died within the year. During the Covid epidemic I did not venture out to the store as the city was advised to stay at home. When I did go to Dundee last week they conveniently told me I waited too long to call them since the warranty just expired. I would not go back to Dundee's. If you want to have a warranty, do not plan on them honoring it. The will look for any way around it. Also, they do not have any expertise on recommending plants or flowers. read more

I placed an online order yesterday for a purple tulip arrangement for my wife's birthday to be delivered. I picked this place since it was close to her office. When i clicked on the order button it advised me in big bold letters that the color may be changed per the instructions in my order. Well I looked through the order and it never said anything about that although there is a small button on the website you can click that explains this. This didn't leave me with a good feeling since the purple is the whole reason I ordered it in the first place. I called today at about noon since my wife hadn't called to thank me yet and the woman told me the flowers were going out in the afternoon since they didn't have purple and that color just came in. Great! The flowers were delivered about 3:00 I believe when her workday is basically over and she doesn't get the recognition from her office mates that she received flowers which is pretty much the point of me having them delivered. Otherwise I could have bought them and given them to her myself. Then (see photos of what I ordered and what I received) they weren't purple at all. They were red. Pretty much the most common color of flower you could receive and what I really want to avoid. Not only that but they are wilted and really look terrible. They do look fresh though so I will give them that credit but they are all opened and I counted 9 which the photo I ordered from had 11. Again not a big deal in itself but combined with everything else just made me wonder why I strayed from my regular florist. Lesson learned and I won't be shopping here again. read more

My daughter and I ordered wedding bouquets for the bride and her wedding party. My daughter sent pictures of what her bridal bouquet should look like so Melissa can order proper color roses. We were very specific. On the day of the wedding I came to pick up the order and to my horror realized that it was nothing what actually ordered. My daughter were terrified. I sent her pictures of what they made and she answers with: OMG! No. No. No.... We put together bouquets ourselves with roses bought at Bachman's (they were super helpful), thank goodness for that, but I was so upset and stressed out that I could not enjoy my daughter wedding as I should have. I am considering legal action against Dundee Nursery. read more

Had a great experience at Dundee. Went to buy a couple bushes but was not sure of what I wanted. Was greeted by a friendly salesperson, Margo. She was very knowledgable about the shrubs, trees and plants. We put together a plan for my whole yard. I ended up buying way more than I planned, but it felt good because I now had a vision. They selection was good and the plants were in good shape. The bad reviews did not reflect my experience at all. Highly recommended. read more

Dundee is a nursery first and foremost. You come here to get plants and less so "garden decor" items. They have those too, don't get me wrong, but they trend a bit on the ticky-tacky side for my taste. Now, about the plants. Dundee is staffed by people who know the business, and know the plants. The positives: --Most plants are locally grown (which is awesome for perennial, shrub and tree selection... you may even be able to buy bulbed/bare-rooted overwintered plants). --Family owned biz with people who know their stuff. --Bigger selection of trees and shrubs (larger plants) than most other garden centers. The downside of Dundee? It's not got the *biggest* selection out there. Their annuals/perennials are great quality, but not the most exciting or newest varieties, always. Hey, that's okay, if you like pink impatiens, you like pink impatiens--and you'll certainly find good quality and good advice here. read more

I stopped at Dundee looking for indoor houseplants. They have a great assortment - both the usual hardware store selection but also quite a few unusual options including the coveted Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree. I got that and another very large houseplant for $65 using my 25% off coupon. The best part of Dundee is the staff. Everyone was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They encouraged me to call anytime with questions about my plants. Theresa signed me up for the news letter and honored the discount I had heard about but didn't have the coupon in hand. I can't speak to the quality or assortment of their outdoor selection but my mother in law goes every spring since the assortment is locally grown and bee-friendly. read more

I have never been treated so poorly as a customer. There is zero communication between the company and customer. I have been trying to get my landscaping project of 40,000$ completed for over a month and a half now, it was supposed to only take a week. There is no accountability on their end for any of the delays or lack of communication. Every delay that happened I only knew about because they did not show up, no one called at any point. After seeing just a portion of the work done, the cost is not worth the end product. Do not trust the work to be completed in a timely manner nor to be able to reach (or get a call back) from anyone on the project. read more

Super disappointed. My Fiancé and I met with the Melissa the wedding florist March 15. She seemed amazing. I was super excited to get our quote and hopefully choose Dundee as our wedding florist. Mind you we have gone to two other florists in the area and like them too, but this felt right. She listened to what we wanted and seemed to be the most knowledgeable about mixing our out of the ordinary color scheme. We were told that we'd have a quote in our hands the next day (Friday) or on Monday, because she was leaving for vacation. Well she forgot. Time and time again we got emails with promises of getting the quote but when the time came and went there was always another excuse. I'm done wasting my time with someone who can't follow through with anything. We had over $2k in wedding florals we wanted to buy! I can understand patience and courtesy to someone who is on vacation and comes back sick, and maybe back pain after but the fact that she couldn't follow up on time with anything makes me too hesitant to book our wedding flowers with Dundee. We had such high hopes and were so impressed to be taken down. read more

We've been coming to Dundee for their experience and customer service for the past 13 years after we moved. Bought $13 annuals and one only lasted 3 weeks. For some reason all of them are doing great except one, so I took it back with receipt and pictures of all of them in same pots, same location, watering the same, same amount of sun, etc. Greenhouse supervisor says no guarantee on annuals and must have had a weak root system so nothing they can do. Will be going to Bachmans or Long Lake in the future to get better customer service vs only trees and shrubs. read more

I ordered the Teleflora's Enchanted Cottage (Deluxe version) for my MIL's 70th birthday. It was (supposed to be) a beautiful arrangement of purple flowers and white roses. What my MIL actually received was 6 white roses in an oversized vase, and an unfinished bow. If there was a way to post pics here, I would. I sent the pics to Melissa (the manager). I contacted Dundee, they took full responsibility of the mistake, saying that the purple flowers weren't in stock and so they had arranged what they could, and were waiting on the flower delivery of the purple ones. In the meantime, it got entered into their system that the order was ready for delivery, so they delivered it. I'm not sure if they have a checks and balances system in place, but there is no way that anyone can look at the arrangement and think "yeah that looks good" or "yup, it looks ready." I asked for a refund and a delivery of the correct arrangement free of cost. Dundee took responsibility for the mistake, without question, so I thought the least they would do is honor my request. But they (Julie) said they'd need to speak with the manager. Julie called me back and said the manager said they could do half price for an arrangement if I wanted to send another one. I was so disappointed and embarrassed to have such a hideous "arrangement" (I use the term loosely) delivered with my name on it that I want to make it up to my MIL for her special day and get her a nice arrangement. I reluctantly agreed for an alternate arrangement to be delivered today for half the price (they don't have the purple flowers I wanted and won't have the them until tomorrow...). Overall, I am disappointed with the original arrangement, but even more disappointed that even after taking full ownership of the error, they still want to charge me half price for a floral arrangement that isn't even one I wanted in the first place. Customer service fail on all levels. I understand mistakes happen in business. But if it's the business owner's fault, good customer service means going above and beyond to right the wrong. Other than not charging me for the arrangement, which could hardly be called an arrangement, Dundee didn't offer anything else. It was only when I asked for another arrangement to be sent did they consult and offer me a 50% discount. read more

Not even worthy of one star! Worst service I have ever experienced. Sarah refused to call me back after several attempts to reach her. I spent over $5,000 and the end result does NOT look anything like a $5,000 job. Half of the plants did not survive the first winter. They gave me a credit to replace. The replacement plants have a fungus. I tried to work it out with Gill, the General Manager, he was extremely rude. I was okay with spending a premium because I thought I would get excellent service and quality products. Just because you spend more money doesn't mean anything. I will never step foot in Dundee again. I will be sure to tell my friends and family to do the same. read more

I ordered a bouquet online for delivery and the pictures depicted beautiful and FULL bouquets, even the smaller bouquets in the pictures looked full but I wanted just a little more, thinking I'll love it regardless so I ordered the medium bouquet. When delivered, they looked NOTHING like the photo. Not nearly as full and most of the carnations were super small and haven't even bloomed yet. You'd think if you spent $100 for a bouquet per the photos from the website, they'd be full and not "waiting to bloom" still. Pictures were deceiving. Won't be using or recommending. My advice would be to actually deliver what you're selling online or else your customers will just be disappointed. read more

I thought I was a loyal customer in their rewards program; it turns out they lost the entire first year of my purchases. I did not buy a lot that first year, but every time I have gone there this year they can not seem to find my rewards record. Today, the manager figured out it had not been "linked." She would not give me credit for my purchases last year. I decided she could keep the items I was going to buy today, too, since I was obviously not a valued customer. Absolutely horrible experience. Family entered to inquire about flowers for a funeral arrangement on Monday, Jan 20th. The woman at the desk was extremely rude, and basically didn't want the business. She stated that they didn't have any idea if they would deliver to Rogers, MN which is 20 minutes away. She then noted that the only flowers that they have are in the fridge. She then said that she wouldn't be able to set aside any time to discuss flower arrangements. These family members are considerate, polite people, and this would have been a large order of flowers for a funeral. It doesn't make sense why they wouldn't be interested in a large order of flowers. read more

I just went to Dundee to pick up a few specific things on a Sunday afternoon, and it didn't appear as though they had any of them. To make matters worse, I couldn't find anyone to help me anywhere. I proceeded to walk around the entire inside and outside of the store with an empty cart looking for someone to help me and the only person I saw was the cashier, who was checking people out. Finally I went to the (empty) information desk and after waiting for at least a few minutes, someone came out. I told her I needed some help and she told me pretty snottily that I had to wait for her to check something for a phone customer. At this point I just left and went to growhaus which was not too far away. I don't know if they just werent staffed appropriately or what the problem was, but it was a very disappointing experience, both from a product availability standpoint and from a customer service standpoint. I won't be going back to Dundee. Bachmans always has what I need and the best customer service! Which is important for a lawn and garden store!! read more

I received a floral bouquet from friends on the anniversary of my sons death. i immediately opened it when delivered, it was an arrangement of lilys and roses. Petals were already drooping off of 3 of the 5 roses. When i called to express my dissatisfaction I was offered that they would bring by 3 roses to replace the substandard ones or I could stop by the store, bring the arrangement with me and they would replace them there. I am physically handicapped so the bringing back to the store was not an option and as i had commitments away from my home for the next couple days, the roses would be delivered 2 days later when i was home to receive them. Dundee has received a considerable amount of business because of my sons death (funeral flowers/plants, a purchase and planting of a memorial tree and many arrangements on anniversary dates since), a large majority of these items have been substandard and overpriced. Now with this latest incident and unsatisfactory customer service, I will be sure to inform others to not patronize Dundee in the future. read more
