One of our truck wheels had made awful noises off and on, but when we neared Gainesville, it started sounding like it was leaving parts on the road! I quickly looked for repair shops knowing we were (1) at their mercy, (2) not local, (3) hardly repeat or loyal customers, and (4) it was a Thurs. afternoon. Mr. Automotive had great ratings and was near the interstate so we barely hobbled in. The lot was full so our hopes dashed before we even talked to the owner. He told my husband he could get to it Monday morning. When we told him we were from out of town, he said he would do it the next morning. As I looked for a motel within walking distance since the truck would NOT go further, he came back and told us that he had 2 oil changes and lunch, but would squeeze us in that afternoon since we were stuck. As he walked away, he was already ordering the parts he thought he needed. Honoring his word, he took care of his customers, ate lunch (onsite), tutored and encouraged his kids in math as he ran in and out of the repair area, then jumped on fixing our truck and getting us on our way. Within 2 and a half hours of limping in, we were back on the road happily and gratefully headed home. The price was reasonable, and, although we tried to tip him for the amazing service, he would not take it, stating that when he was young on long road trips and encountered similar challenges, good people had helped him and his family and that's what he wanted to do for others! If we lived closer, we would go out of our way to have work done on our vehicles at Mr. Automotive again!

I would absolutely recommend buying from him. However, I cannot recommend Greene Ford's service department. I brought my 2020 F-150 in because the engine had a severe ticking noise. It sounded like the engine was on the verge of failing. The truck is covered under an aftermarket warranty, so I wanted the problem diagnosed correctly. The service department told me the issue was the spark plugs and coil packs. Those repairs were completed, but when I picked the truck up, the engine was making the exact same loud ticking noise as before. When I called back to explain that nothing had changed, I was told they thought I had only brought the truck in because the check engine light was on. That was shocking to hear because the entire reason I brought it in was the loud engine tick. It felt like no one had actually addressed the concern I clearly described. I ended up spending money on repairs that did not solve the problem, losing valuable time, and having to take the truck somewhere else. To make matters worse, I was told they were about three weeks behind on engine-related work. I then took the truck to Chestatee Ford. Despite having a much busier service lot, they diagnosed the issue quickly, and within two days they had a replacement engine approved and on the way under my warranty. The difference in professionalism, communication, and diagnosis between the two dealerships was night and day. If you're shopping for a vehicle, go see Roger.
