I noticed there is only 1 review of this great bridge club so I thought I'd add my impression.
Note that the address for the new center has changed to 34202 Cook St. · Palm Desert, CA 92211
Easy access from any area in Coachella Valley, attracts many people from out of town for sectional tournaments.
Very large, well-lit, well air-conditioned main room with enough space for more than 50 tables at least, cleaned between each session.
Large, safe parking with handicapped spaces just steps from the doors.
Separate classroom with white board and that holds about 8 or 10 tables with well stocked library of bridge books.
Comfortable chairs, small corner tables for bags, books, drinks.
Several large clocks timing the various sections.
Bridgemates and scores posted on different sets of monitors.
Games F2F and online daily.
Beginner, 0-750, and Open Stratified games. (often multiple sections for 0-750, Open)
Lots of snacks, coffee, drinks of various types in large entry area.
Restrooms (at least the men's) are spacious, well furnished, quite clean
Incredibly well managed with zero tolerance for unpleasant or out of bounds behavior.
Partner arrangements for any session
On-line reservations for F2F games strongly suggested for winter season - October - May because the room fills up.
Full-time, well experienced and knowledgeable head director with several part-time but equally assistant directors. Not a sour puss in the bunch.
Hand records, scores and detail available by email very soon after each session.
I've only been to 4 or 5 other clubs but Duncan is by far the best laid out, equipped and managed of any of them.
Well attended beginner and intermediate class series. read more
