Nick, the owner and chief instructor has a very impressive background and has a world of experience above and beyond the martial arts. His meticulous attention to detail shines in every aspect of the instruction and operation at XGJJ. He also has managed to assemble a great team of partners and coaches with Gino and Brad. The environment is great. If you are looking for a respectful, family like atmosphere where the coaches and students are passionate about life and their craft, you found it. I really enjoy the instructional format they follow. It allows rapid absorption of technique with good levels of retention. The techniques shown are solid and show the evolution from traditional to modern application. Although this is not a traditional martial arts school, the tenants of honor, respect, and brotherhood have been well preserved. They have cardio and weight equipment and a boxing ring as well. There is a personal trainer named Brandon on site who is knowledgeable in nutrition, fitness training, and supplementation. As this is a complete gym it could replace your gym membership. My boys really enjoy the children's classes and they have learned more than just martial arts. I have referred several family friends and they have enjoyed the experience as well. The school is affiliated with Fight Sports in Miami. While on vacation, I had the opportunity to drop in and train with them. It was good to have a place to train while out of town and the atmosphere there was great and the chief instructor was very friendly and welcoming as well. There are no long term contracts! The class was at like 12 on a Thursday and ended roughly around 1 I think. Robert greeted us at the door, extremely friendly and encouraging. I signed a waiver. He helped me with my wraps, I brought my own gloves (they have ones you can purchase or borrow as well). Warm up was jump roping, jumping jacks, then a bob and weave exercise focused on technique. There was encouraging feedback throughout the class, we did combos with a partner that involved high kicks, jabs, hooks, etc. Then we did core work. I read another review that said the class is super tight knit and that is very true. I don't know if my experience would've been different had I not accompanied a long time member however I do know that I really enjoyed the vibe of the class, Robert and how challenging the workout was. A note: the doors are left open to invite in a breeze, so there's no AC. Be comfortable with pouring sweat- it lets out ALLL the toxins. I was very impressed to get a text from Robert thanking me for visiting the class and offering 20% off anything from the pro-shop. You can tell he runs this business with a lot of heart. He's super knowledgeable and very motivational. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely return!

Now, with that being said, this gym is NOT friendly to anyone who doesnt fit the mold of "family oriented" meaning you will be the subject of harrassment there on all levels (physical, emotional, sexual) The husband and wife owners have some weird dynamic of the wife "fighting off" threatening females who are receiving attention from the husband because of their attractiveness and athletic potential. This can lead to situations that will put you in an unfair situation and result in serious harm to your physical health (she crushed a girls windpipe during sparring and she almost died) So with that being said, be very cautious about revealing your occupation or social media if you have an onlyfans, do web cam, or are a dancer because you will become targeted. I signed him up to try their complimentary classes. This is the only place I've been to that gives you 2 weeks of complimentary classes to see if you like it. They have quite a few programs available for kids as well as adults. All the instructors are really personable & friendly. The kids really love them & they handle large classes well. After the 2 week trial period my son decided he liked it & we signed up for the program which is a 1 year commitment. They have 3 different program levels available which they offer 3 payment options. You can put a small down payment & pay the rest over monthly installments, the next option is a larger down payment with the balance broken up into 2 more payments or you can pay all at once with a 25% discount off the full price. They offer 2 different age groups of kids classes, one for the little guys up to 5 years old & the older kids up to 12. The classes are a good size, about 20+ kids. Once they warm up they split the group up separating the older & bigger kids from the smaller ones. The classes are run efficiently & the instructors do a good job of keeping the kids focused & on point. They attend competitions during the year if your child is interested in competing. There is also adult classes available.
