Where is the no star button!!!. This is the worst organisation that I've ever dealt with. I have been trying to correct address data on my company profile for weeks as it is stopping me from registering as a developer on the Apple store and Google play, meaning I can not submit my app for approval. They sent me an email saying it had been done it with an attached spreadsheet showing the correct information. That was more than a week ago and I can still not enroll in the above developer programs. When you contact their customer support you just get people who have no authority to do anything. I spent 3 hours on the telephone with them this morning for no resolution and only to have the phonecall terminated because it had reached the maximum length of call allowable! Dun & Bradstreet has been sending me unwanted emails for the past FOUR years and will not stop despite many phone calls and emails. I even got to their Executive Response Team, which is supposed to be the end of the line, but after months and months, I am still receiving unwanted emails. And now they found one of my other business email addresses and is sending to it too! Double spam! In order to unsubscribe, you have to go on their website and provide all of your phone numbers - huh? Another scam way to get your data! Today I filed an FTC Fraud Report. In addition the D&B website has been malfunctioning for over a month. My PA had attempted to create the new D&B profile to get the D&B number for my new company and the website would not permit her or me to move forward to submit the application. The enormous and ever-increasing suction created by Dun & Bradstreet is growing so powerful it threatens to create a black hole capable of sucking the entire planet into oblivion. They should be shut down for providing false data about companies and held liable for the damage they cause. In two cases for two separate businesses I attempted to correct their flawed data (which D&B gathered from sources outside the companies they were reporting on) and in both cases we initially used their online tools to resolve the inaccuracies. We got messages that read: "D-U-N-S® Manager encountered an unexpected error while processing your company update request submitted on 11/23/2020, resulting in a delay in processing your update request. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience." That message was received January 22, 2021...two months later! So I attempted to correct the errors with actual staff, people who were provided documentation from governmental and other third parties that proved the D&B records were incorrect. Despite repeated assurances after providing all the requested evidence, what do they say later? "Hi Bruce, I submitted all updates but they've been rejected. I tried to get a resolution from customer service and their best input was that too many data updates are coming from a D&B rep vs. the business owner themselves. The advice I was given was to pass along the support link so that you can request the updates directly: www. support.dnb.com / 866-584-0283 for customer service. I'm not a customer service rep so I'm not totally familiar with their data policies, but it looks as though updates to things like principal contact info and legal structure changes needs to come from you directly. Sorry for any inconvenience - data security is something we're pretty rigid on. Let me know if you have any questions navigating the support portal!" This is the D&B round robin...go to the website, submit your corrections, encounter an unexpected error, see nothing corrected, call us and resubmit your corrections and company policy will restrict us from changing the false records because our craniums are tightly wedged near our colons and the bloated bureaucracy of our maliciously negligent corporation will guarantee continued, unending inconvenience for you...the business owner. Sorry, but we will be unable to cease distributing lies about your companies because we're rigid with red tape and flaccid with facts. Do not do business with D&B!! Run! They get you to sign a click through contract with crazy dates, I believe intentionally. The signed date does not match the service nor invoice dates, and as such, renewal date. When you notify them of non-renewal they say you are past the period of notification and you have to pay for another year. Do yourself a favor and go to another service to pull credit reports. My small business is a sole proprietor consultancy offering services, not products. Therefore, I have very little overhead and work with very few vendors, none of whom regularly report to D&B. Since I also don't take out any loans, I have very little information on my D&B credit report, resulting in a "poor" rating in their system. My personal credit score is over 800 and my business has never been late on a bill or owed anyone anything, yet D&B is telling potential customers that I have a "poor" credit rating. When I asked how to fix this issue during a 5/15/23 phone call, D&B told me the only way to do so was to pay them over $800 for their Credit Builder program. I replied that it sounded like blackmail, as though they were going to damage my business with false claims unless I paid them large amounts of money. The representative essentially agreed with me and said there was no way to get rid of my DUNS number unless I closed the business. This is outrageous to me and I'm surprised other small business owners aren't up in arms about it. Why are they allowed to lie about a businesses credit unless the owner pays? Total scam. They will go above and beyond to avoid refunding you or canceling a subscription that they trick you into without you realizing it. There is no way to remove your card or cancel the subscription without calling them and over the phone they will do everything under the sun to make canceling impossible. I didn't even receive anything for my order on top of it. And the customer service guy "forwarded me" to the cancellation department only to forward me to nothing. Horrible organization using borderline criminal tactics to force companies to pay more and more. They have consistently put out incorrect information despite our repeated efforts, including showing us as being in a completely different industry. We corrected this once, only to find now they changed it again to the wrong one. We receive a notice to review a credit rating change, and when clicking to see this are enrolled in new programs with new billing. We subscribed to one service that never worked - not once, and when we refused to pay for it had to fight with them for months. We get calls telling us our credit could be better if they checked our major suppliers, but they will only do that if we pay them. This reeks of extortion. I want you to know how d&b business operates- A few years back , one of their reps/goons called and threatened to give my company a negative d&b rating if we did not comply to paying approx $1000. Last week we were denied credit at Chatham steel because of this rating. We paid cash for the order (because we can) and everything is proceeding. Is this how a reputable organization operates? We have had similar bad experiences with this company. We were trying to bring on a new client and after they did a financial check on us through DNB and said we had a low PAYDEX score, indicating we don't pay our bills on time. We have been in business for over 40 years and have always paid our bills on time. When I called to check on this with DNB they pointed me to a furniture vendor we bought a desk from. The policy of this vendor was that we put down a deposit on the desk and paid the remainder due when the desk was delivered. The desk took 3 months to get delivered and DNB interpreted that as we were 3 months late in paying our bill. That shows you how good their data is. When I called back to correct the situation their solution was to pay $300 for a "CREDIT REPAIR SERVICE" to remedy the problem. I agree with the other reviews that this is a shyster outfit not to be trusted. It's no wonder the federal government stopped using Duns and when to their own UEI (Unique Entity Identifier number). Insisting that they can do it better since they know how to professionally put everything as well as improve in business credit score. Its a brand new business, there is nothing to improve. Full blown Ponzi scheme. The more you pay, the better they make your score. If you refuse, they manufacture absurd "late payments" and downgrade your scores. You have to fight these monsters. We get calls stating that they can improve our scores for $15,000. When we say we say can't afford that, they quickly drop the price to $9,000 and make you feel like they are doing you a huge favor. After you hang up with any D&B rep, you feel the desperate need to take a shower. They have arbitrarily increased our scores from 3 to 5 or 2 to 5 for no reason at all. We are a debt free, highly profitable company, but if you read our D&B score, you'd think we were borderline sinking. These guys are the Jerry Springers of rating agencies. I left over 5 telephone messages and finally sent an email on November 28th to cancel, never getting a response from anyone there. Being desperate and not wanting to renew under the current terms and not getting any response I was forced to cancel my credit card to avoid being charged automatically. A desperate move I admit. I tried years to get the company info corrected and still have no resolution. They will have you running in circles and they don't follow through on their end to correct, all for the nightmarish scenario to repeat months later. I'm guessing they really don't care because they are trying to get you to pay. Currently they have a conflict of interest - credit reporting and business directory. Dun & Bradstreet, wow, it's not quite extortion, but pretty close. I actually spoke these people on several occasions for a few different companies over the years so I thought I should put this out there. DaB offer a service to monitor your business's credit score (their version of it). What they then do is send overly aggressive sales reps to pressure business owners into paying hundreds of dollars to help straighten it up under the guise that you may lose business if it's not corrected (pay money). After speaking with them at length they absolutely refuse to even remove businesses with outdated information, even though they know the information is erroneous. So basically they tell you they have a potentially harmful rating for business (in their system), then tell you for hundreds of dollars you can create an account to monitor your own business, and if you don't they won't even remove you, but continue to sell this false information and possibly cost you jobs or future business. Scams like this is one of the reason small Mom and Pop start-ups face such challenges. No thanks, we won't be doing any business with any company this crooked. If you want to check out a business, Yelp, word of mouth, and the BBB are still your best bets. read more
