The winding and rolling road has many spots to stop and get out of the car to look at the gorgeous rock formations. Peak sunset spot and view is right by the destroyed green piano and then the loop takes you back out to the main road. We came in December and we were all alone !! While it may not be as grand as the Grand Canyon the multi colored rocks and stacks are similarly beautiful here and the opportunity to get closer is even better. Practice leave no trace and be aware of your surroundings as the rocks can look quite precarious.

Tips: Make sure your car is in good condition and take water. I made the drive in just a regular car with no 4-wheel drive and I was fine but check road conditions first. It's free! The hike down is beautiful with wide desert views. Just remember: going back up is a workout. Bring plenty of water and be ready for sun. The hot springs themselves are awesome--several warm pools and the cold creek right next to them. It can get busy, but still really relaxing. Overall, a great adventure spot if you're up for a tougher hike. Would definitely go again.

He used to visit Lake Elsinore but decided it was too busy, dirty and crowded so he decided to buy a plot of land in the middle of nowhere (sorry Newberry springs) and build a private lake for his friends and family. He eventually sold most of the properties. Lake Jodie is beautiful and quiet, and at most has five boats on it at a time. It's the perfect place for people to learn how to ski or wakeboard. It's definitely a different experience than Arrowhead or Mojave. It is a private lake, so you have to know somebody who has a property there to go. There isn't much in the area, it neighbors a pistachio farm, a Mormon church, and a horse shelter. It is not far from the American Legion, the Barn (bar), and a gas station.

Admission is only $30, and they just require that you wear proper attire--but there are no equipment checks like at other race tracks. You can even camp there over night. It's definitely out in the desert, but that makes sense, they need plenty of space to safely house and care for so many different animals. All of the animals looked healthy, well cared for, and comfortable in their habitats. The admission price was very reasonable, and the Extreme Feed experience was absolutely worth it (just keep in mind it's for ages 18+). I know it can feel a little sad seeing animals in enclosures, but learning more about their backgrounds helped put things into perspective. Many of them can't survive in the wild, and this sanctuary gives them a safe, protected place to live with a staff that clearly cares about their well‑being. Overall, it was a meaningful and memorable visit, and I'm glad places like this exist to give these animals a second chance.

What a hidden gem!…read more We had a van full of snacks and food. We wanted a place to sit and eat lunch and we were so happy we came across this park. Tip: don't drive too fast... otherwise, you will miss the signs to get into the park. There are plenty of picnic tables under a shaded area, clean restrooms, a nice playground, volleyball net, soccer field, and a basketball court. Very kid friendly. Be sure to stop by!
