The store continues to be run mostly by children, with their friends hanging around being rude and disruptive. It's clear that there is a lack of adult supervision, which really detracts from the overall shopping experience. I felt uncomfortable. The yute (in my Joe Pesci voice in my Cousin Vinny, lol You all don't know anything about that). I was hanging out with one of @we_hungryaf bloggers, who was also taken aback by the confusion. Despite the delicious candy, I cannot recommend Sweet Shoppe due to the negative atmosphere. I love their peanut brittle, but both times I went, the yute asked me with a tone that indicated (in my opinion) something was wrong with it. When I opened the tin yesterday I found the seal had been punctured. I pulled the seal and the Drops had all melted together as you can see in the pictures. My wife, ever concerned for my well-being, advised me to not eat the candy. So I returned to the store, ready for an exchange or refund. They REFUSED to do either. Oh they had their reasons, number 1 among them was I didn't have my receipt. The store manager could not reach the owner whom I offered to talk to, or I could come back some other time and maybe catch up with the owner. So I won't tell you not to shop there, times are difficult for everyone these days. But I will not shop there again and when I need a lemon drop for a long car ride I'll make do with a bag of them from Walmart or CVS. There just sugar and flavor after all. But I will suggest that you look closely at every purchase you might make from that store and don't toss your receipt until you do. Or maybe they'll treat you better than they treated me.
