It's a fairly large store with a photo department and an optician as well as the usual pharmacy and perfume counters. It also has a good electrical section with lots of toothbrushes, hairdriers etc. There often doesn't seem to be enough tills open so you may have to queue for a while to pay and I found the Christmas music in early November very irritating. Their loyalty points are pretty good and their prices have got better so all in all a good place to shop.

I cannot see myself going here for anything but something I'm already comfortable with. It's just not the kind of place I've ever gotten help from. Always good for a peek after Christmas though for the sales :-)

Sometimes, only Boots will do and that is why it is handy to have one in the Abingdon precinct,…read morealbeit quite a small one! They have a selection of their products here, inlcuding make-up, bath and body stuff and health products such as medicines. They also have a pharmacy which is handy, especially as Boots pharmacies tend to give the well known brands of medication rather than the cheaper generic versions. So if for example you want a proper ventolin inhalor rather than a generic salbutamol one then you are more likely to get it at Boots than anywhere else! Boots also have a weighing scale which costs about 20p to use and gives you a printed out copy of your weight and BMI. A small shop, but very well laid out and a good variety of products.

Okay, I'd like to give this two stars, but it's a pharmacy with easy access on my normal routes and…read moreso I think that it deserves a star for not having to do with issues getting there. Other than that...frankly, they've got drugs. If you don't want more than that, then fine. If you want, I don't know, daylight, fresh clean carpets and a light airy smell then this isn't your place. Making a purchase here reminds one of an illicit drug exchange rather than the legit one you're actually getting. Ew. At least the lady who runs the register is spectacularly sweet. I guess, in a way, she makes it worth the extra star also.

Being a small shop there's a limited range of goods, but they cram a lot into a small space. Some of the make-up (particularly nail varnish) looks quite old, so I'm not sure how many people buy their cosmetics here. Having said that they were the only Boots branch in 5 I tried which stocked the particular shade of foundation I wanted so hats off to them for that. There's a pharmacy in this branch and the staff appear knowledgeable about the various over-the-counter medicines they sell. They're very good at recommending the Boots version (where one is available) which can save you some money. Staff have always been friendly when I've been in so it's a nice place to shop, even though you might have to go further afield for anything out of the ordinary.

This is a small, local pharmacy - if you're after a full, high street Boots branch you will be disappointed. However, if you need toothpaste or cosmetics or painkillers or you need to have your prescription filled, this is the place. The staff have, by and large, been working there for some time. They are friendly and knowledgeable. They know the regulars (the chemist is near the train station and near a general store, a couple of restaurants, a bakery and other very local type shops) and are happy to advise. I have never had to wait in a queue for very long, and have found the experience quick and pleasant.
