The most horrendous experience for me when having new wheel bearings put on my rv camper. My big mistake was not asking for an estimate to begin with when talking with the owner on the phone. The man who actually did the work was very nice in telling me they could do the work. They charged me $698 for having bearings replaced and repairing an interior light. I had asked them to install bearing buddies to keep dirt and water out. Instead they replaced one cap on one of the two wheels they were asked to work on (and I'm hoping the bearings), and left the other bearings original rubber cap on. This cap fell off on my 20 mile journey on the way home. When I got home I checked the prices of RV repair places to find out what the charge would normally be on bearing replacement. The labor on bearings are normally $100 per hour. The bearings themselves are under $100. There charge was $182. The labor was $475. I called the owner to complain and his workers answered. I asked to have the owner call me back but he was unresponsive. I paid with a check which was rushed through the bank system by the next morning. Before posting this review I called the owner to tell him this would go on Angie's list as well and his attitude was basically "so what."

I believe that the business sold the RV for more money than the agreed upon purchase price I had with them. During my consistent communication, their sales team set a pick-up date unbeknownst to me and used the passage of that date as a reason for cancelling the deal. I believe this company operated in bad faith and despite having a signed deposit and purchase agreement with me simply pulled the deal in the interest of making more money on the vehicle with a different party.

Only solution was to remove the entire kitchen, bathroom and bucket seats in a new van. PASS. Bankston cost us over $2000! My wife and I had been searching for an Entegra Launch 19Y Mercedes campervan which are harder to find in Southern California where we live. I found one advertised on RV Trader in Alabama at Bankston Motor Homes and after a short negotiation, agreed on a price and placed a down payment with plans to fly out and drive the Van back home. It would be several weeks before we could travel to Alabama and I was assured that would not be a problem. Two days before we left, they called to advise of an error code requiring Mercedes to fix. After 3 1/2 weeks and continual communication, the van should have been checked sooner. When we arrived, we were told the vehicle had the error code fixed and had undergone the scrutiny of 8 dealership people and it was ready to go. We started with a walk through of the vehicle and right away began finding items needing attention. Although mostly minor or cosmetic they began to pile up with bigger and bigger items. We could have worked through these until we discovered the interior hallway floor was delaminated causing a very, very loud squeaking that could be heard 20 feet away from the van on the outside! This is the area where you stand for the kitchen, climb out of the bed and also enter the bathroom. We asked for the Service Manager so we could better understand what had happened to the floor and how it could be remedied. Rick explained what must have happened in the manufacturing process and what was needed to repair this problem. The solution required the complete removal of the entire interior kitchen cabinetry, the entire wet bath and the passenger second row bench seating. The one-piece laminate floor would then be removed so the sub floor could be re-glued and then everything re-installed. This process would require their service team 4-5 days and would be covered under warranty. Both the Walk-Through Agent, Melissa and the Service Manager, Rick were very, very sorry and agreed the van was in need of the repairs to the floor along with the other list of items found. We were not willing to proceed with a purchase of roughly $150,000 and then have our new vehicle dismantled. The Salesman and the Sales Manager, who never even came out to discuss this with us, could not have been less empathetic. All Logan could say was Gee, we didn't hear that before! We even asked if they would be willing to discount the vehicle to cover our inconvenience if we were to drive it home and have the warrantied repairs done in California. They offered a 1.3% discount for us to have to handle this issue ourselves. Needless to say, we declined the offer and the sale. Bankston could absolutely care less that we spent money and time flying to their business and back home including hotel nights and Lyft fees from the nearest airport. In total we spent around $2,000 and they were simply indifferent. Not only this, but by the time all of this had transpired, we had been there almost 5 hours and they were ready to close. With no car, no cell service at the location to find an Uber or Lyft, no van to drive home as planned and no hotel or flights at this late hour, we were about to be homeless on their front drive with no means to help ourselves. When we exclaimed this to our Salesman, Logan Hubbard, he replied he'd like to help, but the kid's car seats were in his truck and he also had a kid's ball game to attend. The only way we didn't end up Lord knows where was Melissa Smith was kind enough to clear out her truck and drive us all the way to the Birmingham airport. She apologized profusely and told us she wouldn't allow us to be left helpless. On top of every other cost, we naturally paid her for her kindness and were truly appreciative of her. In the end, we can only conclude that Bankston knew of the problem with the Camper Van and hoped to unload it to someone who may not notice the problem. Logan said they had no money in it and it had been sitting for a long time. I wonder why? Please don't let them fool you, look elsewhere to a dealership that cares for people. They let us walk away with our $150,000 cashier's check and never had a manager talk to us during our visit or reach out afterward. What a lousy way to do business!
