Had an incredible experience tonight with Skipper Gordon. He was the perfect host to tell us all about the harbor and canals. We brought our own food and drinks and enjoyed the two hour ride. A hidden gem for sure! read more

The pool area and great and features a sandy "beach like" side to it. The hotel food is great and service is just ok. My only critique is that the hotel is a bit dated and but definitely check out the indoor pools as well. They have a heated one, warm, and cold in a very relaxed area. Also Casey is the best!
This is an up market Australian hotel many say the best on the coast…read more We stayed a lagoon suite. The main point of focus for the hotel is the pool with beach entry and the fountains. I liked swimming in the pool but it may not suit all as it is viewable from the lobby and many guest go to be seen. Good points Try the high tea it is very nice. It has a one hat and two restaurant, a number of bars and self serve restaurant that serves breakfast. We had dinner at Vie the one hat restaurant. The food was well done and worth the hat. The head waiter was exceptional. The staff in the bar where we had high tea were of high standard. Downside They struggle with peak periods which there is very few mainly public holidays and the odd occasion which this happened to be one. We had a large queue for breakfast and had to wait an appreciable time. We did not get the room tidied until around 4pm and I had to ring. But I would come again definitely a good Australian hotel. A great fish shop is next door to the left Pete's fish market don't ask the staff secret from a local and well worth a visit.

It's four stars because this is the Gold Coast and if you're able to come here it's a blessing…read more Sure, the hotel might be a bit dated and the walls are super thin. The room has cosmetic issues everywhere but the resort itself is beautiful. Lots of walking required though as not too many elevators. The staff are nice and try to accommodate and this is definitely more affordable if you avoid the holiday season. Ocean is right out front with lifeguards!
Absolutely beautiful resort! A strong 4.5 stars…read more Walking distance to Sea World there is almost no reason to leave the resort. With a direct private entrance to the beach and walking distance across the bridge to amazing shopping and restaurants you don't even need a car. If you really need to get out, I suggest taking a taxi rather than forking out all the cash for a rental. The rooms are beautiful by far the best bath tub and shower and this is the only hotel I've been to where the elevators have a luxe leather bench to sit and rest your weary feet for all of 2 floors. Yes, I made it a point to sit down every time.... At first I was kind of bummed there was only 1 hotel dinning restaurant which is a buffet in addition to the Oasis pool bar but just across the bridge and within a 2 minute walk there are a ton of restaurants on the water. Therefore I decided it wouldn't kill me to get out of the hotel- bad feeling gone! The pool has a swim up bar, the only thing I do wish is that there was an outdoor spa. This would have been nice in GC's winter of 68-70 degrees/ 18-20C :) I can't wait to come back and stay here again!

It's definitely more a 3.5-4 star than the 4.5 claimed but it's still extremely comfortable. Parking is next door, $15 a night which is quite reasonable. Though the parking was a bit dirty. If you drive an EV, I can safely tell you no you can't charge in that car park.
My partner and I visited Mantra on View for two nights, and stayed in the High Ocean View King room…read moreon the buildings 19th floor. We decided to stay in this hotel, due to its close proximity to Cavill Avenue. We found the hotel room and bathroom to be very modern, the bed was comfortable to sleep on, the room had a small fridge (not stocked) and a TV with a few Foxtel channels. The bathroom was stocked with clean towels and the usual soaps / shampoos. We ordered from room service a couple of times, and never had to wait too long for the food. We also had the buffet breakfast at the buildings Deja View restaurant, with all of the food tasting pretty nice. We enjoyed using the buildings outdoor pool and spa, and there was also a small gym and tennis court available for use. The beach and all of the shops on Cavill Avenue are all within walking distance, and there is a tram station near the front of the hotel. Parking at the hotel costs $8 per day. All of the staff were pleasant to deal with, and were kind enough to provide me with a refund for an ordered box office movie, which I was unable to watch due to poor hearing / a lack of subtitles. I would definitely consider staying with Mantra on View again, and would have no issues recommending the hotel to anyone else.

Located on the north end of Surfers Paradise, it is an easy stroll to the beach (5 minutes) and the action along the Esplanade (10). It also offers good access to the entire coast with a bus stop around the corner and via the nearby (soon-in-operation) G-link. Rooms have a bedroom with a double and single bed and a living room with pull out couch - thus good for a total of 5 people. There is a little balcony and a not-overly up to date, but fully functional kitchen. The bathroom is only accessible through the bedroom; in double occupancy, additional entrance from the living room would be convenient. We stayed here during the Gold Coast Marathon weekend (40 minute walk to the start) and the hotel was packed full. Reception staff was efficient and friendly. The heated pool, hot tub, and sauna were all great. We didn't try the restaurant.
Quite okay Hotel. Recommended for low budgwt without need of fancy features…read more It good a gym, Sauna, Spa and pool, but all very basic. But in Surfers Paradise there is only little use for that anyway. Upside: the rooms are quite big. Even the bathroom is so big that it seems to be a little bit too empy. Service staff was also very friendly. Rooms are quite cheap for Surfers Paradise, maybe becauae the groundfloor is totally boring and only offers the view to stone walls. Anyway, everything was clean :)
I went to Le Petit Chef on Wednesday April 23 for the 7pm show…read more The table next to us had some unruly children so when the show started I gave the mother a look asking her to quiet her children. She immediately became aggressive and told me to "fix my face or fuck off" . I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and ignored them and began to enjoy the show when suddenly her husband comes over to me, leans right in my face and tells me "Do you have a problem? Because I'll give a problem, cunt." He then threatens me and my family and says he can't wait follow me after the dinner and he's going to slit my throat. Obviously I was extremely distressed. I left the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke to a manager but absolutely NOTHING was done! I was told I could leave ( no refund on meal that was $500 for three people) or return to my table where I felt afraid and intimidated. I returned to my table because we had paid for the evening. But I was so upset and did not enjoy my evening at all. I felt sick. Why is it ok for a man to threaten a woman at the Hilton? He should have been removed for threatening me. I asked to call the police because I wanted to pursue the situation but the Hilton asked me not to call. I agreed because I thought they would deal with this man and his family but they did nothing! In retrospect I should have called the police because what this man did was not ok! Do not stay or dine at Hilton Surfers Paradise because they will do NOTHING to protect you against aggressive people. I will NEVER patronise them again and, as a local, I will advise everyone to avoid this
