Matt the Plumber - Faucet replaced

Matt the Plumber

Very friendly & knowledgable in his craft, family guy - he fixed everything I'd asked-…read more 1 loose indoor faucet which now works better than it ever did, and 2 hose bibs, one of which he had to go thru an interior closet wall to access. He updated the aging hardware, was in and out within a couple of hours. Very reasonably priced. highly recommend!

We did not have huge mysterious problems - a toilet that was not flushing correctly every time, and a dripping faucet outside. They were scheduled at 9 am, and they left at 10:25. There were a few questionable things. Not about Matt and Jason, who seem to be very nice people. But about their charges. They exchanged a flapper in the toilet for a Toto flapper. A name brand, so it might be more costly. Matt charged $38 for that Toto flapper, which is selling for $6.86 elsewhere. I understand that materials must be upcharged, but that seems excessive. He also charged $180 for 2 hours labor. I cannot quite figure that one out. Perhaps bc there were two plumbers here, then each was a 1 hr labor charge? But this was a one plumber job. Changing a flapper in a toilet, or a leaky faucet only required one plumber. They were not actually here two hours, so it could not have been charging 1 plumber's labor for two hours. ? Not sure about how this charge was figured. The other questionable thing was the credit card processing fee. I always pay in cash or check bc I hate that a businss has to pay 3-3.5% fee. I paid him with a check. However, Matt caught my attention when he said he charges a 5% fee, if you pay with a credit card. Not sure if he is aware of this, but that is illegal in WA state. The state allows you to charge the actual % fee from the credit card company, OR a maximum of 4% . Charging 5% is against the state law. So clearly this is questionable on his part as the business owner. Overall, they seemed committed to doing a thorough job, and helping the customer, but their charges may be excessive

Their staff (phone staff and on-site plumbers) are professional, communicate well and get the job done. I should call out though that you might be able to save a few $ if you went with an independent but that's kind of the case for most home repair/servicing companies. I've never used them for Electric and/or HVAC so I can't speak to that.

This company has changed. And not for the better…read more A week ago I called to schedule an appointment for a leaky faucet in my house. An AI voice answered the phone, asked me why I was calling, told me it was going to look up my account details, said it had a problem and that someone would contact me to follow up, and then hung up on me. A few hours later I got a text from "Cameron". I complained to "Cameron" about the experience I had from the AI phone answerer. "Cameron" apologize and told me that such an experience would frustrate him too...then "Cameron" decided to be transparent with me and tell me that he was in fact AI as well and "his" real name was "Carson". We went back and forth about 6 times to explain the problem I was having and to set up an appointment. Then "Cameron" told me that the time we worked out wasn't confirmed yet and that someone would be calling me to confirm the time. Thanks, "Cameron". This was Friday around 4:00PM. THE NEXT MORNING, a human being (I think) texted me from the same number to confirm the appointment. After I let them know how unhappy I was with the AI scheduling service, a human (I think) did call me and apologized for it. Then, on the day of the appointment, the technician arrived an hour and a half after the 12:00-16:00 window we had set up. I had to call them at 16:30 to ask if the technician was coming and they told me he would be there soon. When he did arrive, in the middle of me making dinner for my family, he told me that the faucet would need to be replaced and that it would be $750 (!!) in labor to fix it. Then I was charged $83 for his time (which I guess would be rolled into the service). So, in the end I still had a leaky faucet and I was out $83 with the option to pay $670 to replace a faucet (plus the cost of the faucet itself). For that price, I'm just going to do it myself. Then the spam texts started coming from "Cameron" asking about the estimate. I got one every day until I told it to stop texting me. This company used to be great but I'm going to be looking around the next time I need a plumber. Please ditch this stupid AI system. Please don't charge your customers if you're extremely late for your own four hour window - especially if the diagnosis takes five minutes and is "I can't fix it - replace the faucet".

The worker, Jacob, was right on time & quickly went to work repairing the age old clogged drain issue in kitchen sink. He worked hard & was able to get everything working perfectly. Appreciated his transparency about pricing along with trying to save me $$$$ wherever he could. He was very personable, professional, & cleaned up everything!!! Certainly will call this company again if needed...& ask for Jacob!!

Homeservice Plumbers did great work for us on a clogged downspout drain. We had success clearing…read morethe first portion of the drain, but needed professional assistance with clearing the rest of the blockage. Eli did a through job up to 50' limit of his auger tool. Based on what I've recently learned with roots growing through drain pipes, I would opt for clearing drain pipes with a mechanical auger rather than a hydro jet since something is needed to cut out the roots. After the initial drain clearing, we paidfor an additional service to get a camera into our drain to see if there was any additional blockage. Hudson answered our questions about whether there were any additional blockages up to 100' (there were none), the path and slop of our drain pipe, and the location of low points in our drain pipe with a tool that identified the exact location of the camera. Though the cost of the appointment to use the camera was not inexpensive, I appreciated that we did learn useful information from the use of the camera.
