After holding out for about a year after my last cut I finally decided enough is enough ... I need a hair cut! I was a little worried since I just moved to the Livermore area and wasn't sure who to go to. Just by chance I hit up Duffs Creative and inquired about their mobile service. I set an appointment with Andre and hoped for the best and thats the kind of service Andre gave me, the best! Andre is awesome and totally a people person! He made sure that I understood all my options once I gave him an outline of what I was looking for and he gave me exactly what I wanted. I say this after the fact cause when he was here I told him next time I wanted my sides lower. Especially love the temperature check and that he was wearing a facemask the entire cut. Too many barbers are neglecting those small steps to mitigate covid and I appreciate that's took those small steps. So my husband was adamant to get a haircut because the hotter days are bothering him. He hasn't had a cut since Feb. He too wasn't comfortable getting a mobile haircut on the sidewalk of our condo community. So being the nurse that I am, I was perfectly capable to figure this out. I had a tough but essential discussion with Andre so to keep ourselves and him safe during this service appointment. He mentioned his two year old for making sure he never picks up Covid. Expounding that he even cleans his clothings after every appointment. And testing for Covid himself which was negative. I asked for proof of this but wasn't able to show since he was roving. What he does have is documentation that his business is approved to operate during SiP. We had the tough talk! But we got through it! These were the requests I asked which he totally respected: - he wears the n95 mask we provided under his cloth mask (the n95 protects him from us if we were asymptomatic carriers) and the outer mask to contain the virus if he were a carrier - my husband also wore an n95 and a surgical mask for the outer - I had them face a corner so if both were to expel droplets it would be onto a corner I can wipe down with bleach (rather than face our living room where the droplet travel is more wide) - I asked my him and my husband to keep their convo to a minimum just to further decrease droplet transmissions. I warned him that my husband likes to ask people questions so fyi - I stayed upstairs throughout Andre's practice includes wearing gloves, disinfecting his gloves, his chair equipment, his tools, and whatever. He cut around my husband's n95 mask just fine as well. My husband looks 15 years younger btw. Ready for his zoom debut for his newly promoted role :) Thanks Andre! We all did a good job having that talk in this new normal of a world! I'm hopeful we can all find best ways through anything. !!! read more
