In the Aquarius after a super busy weekend floating on the river- came here after check out and line was crazy long! They had double the service staff for the crowd and things went quickly and super service. Even got the egg bagel sandwich and it was yum! These guys just opened up taking over where Starbucks used to be inside the Aquarius Casino Hotel and Resort. I was thinking how can these guys be better than SB? Well here's my prognosis, since they completely redid the place, it does look more appealing than when it was a Starbucks so I gotta give them credit for the décor and overall ambience of the place. They are called Duet because they serve Coffee and Wine. Never heard of a place that did that but I guess there is a first time for everything. When you look at their menus which just happens to be on flatscreen LCD's, there are a lot of choices. Some examples are cheese plates, sandwiches, fruits, and smoothies. Besides all their wonderful food choices, I think their best feature is the free wifi. Domain is guest and you dont need a password. Just agree with their terms. You combine that with all the space and comfortable furniture, you could be here for hours and not even realize it! All that's left for them to be perfect would be for them to be open 24 hours because the Subway next to them is 24 hours and you are in a 24 hour casino. Aquarius casino has it all. Steakhouse, subway, Panda Express, Bars, and my ultimate favorite, coffee shop! Duet serves just about anything you want for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. I've had their croissant sandwich and it's spot on. Their bakery section looks so appealing I had to try it today. I had the French crueller, strudel with cherry filling, and their usual cup of joe. We got the 2 for 1 drink coupons for signing up for the ace players card. So we decided to check it out. They weren't going to close for another hour and a half so we thought we get a couple glasses of wine and a cheese/cracker platter. First off the initial greeting was not at all warm. When we asked about sitting toward the back of the cafe the server/barista told us that "it's closed, can't you see how the chairs are stacked?" Came off a bit snarky in my opinion. So we went and sat by the front wall. Took a bit to get our wine and even longer for the cheese/cracker platter. The platter we got didn't look like the one in the display and the wine glasses were pretty small. I guess the only good thing was the free wifi and good cafe music that they were playing. read more

Great spot to chill if you're staying in the Aquarius Resort. They offer free Wi-fi as well. It is family friendly with a good amount of seating. Their service was OK. This is a 5 star place for so many reasons. First, it's a gem in the Aquarius mediocre hotel. Great coffee, awesome service and staff is incredible! I wish I'd know that one guy name, that was so friendly, was super nice to the kids, gave us extra crackers and did above and beyond to make us feel welcome although we've had a bunch of noisy kids with us. Woke up with no Starbucks close by. Aye. Thank God for Duet Coffee. Call me persnickity, but that first cup of coffee sets the tone for the day. Yesterday, was a little rough. But today is a whole different story. A 5 minute brisk walk from our hotel, like an oasis emerging from the sand, duet coffee emerges from the mist and the sweet robust perfume of fresh roasted coffee teases my olifactories. The employees seemed reluctant to give us any recommendations on the pastries or the coffees. Two coffees, two desserts, and $25.00 later, we could see why. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Aquarius last year during our summer trip and before leaving picked up a buffalo chicken wrap. It was AMAZING!! We went back this past Sunday-Wednesday and had the buffalo chicken wrap again and tried the ham and cheese panini. So good!! The wrap comes with ranch and their special sauce and the panini also comes with that special sauce. Not sure what the sauce is but it's soooo good! Like a red pepper mayo mix? 4 people behind counter. One server on phone looked at us after the call ended, proceeded to go speak with another staffer. The other two were on the other end of counter in the prep area. Never said a word to my hubby and I. If you follow me on Yelp... you know that makes me feel some kind of way. With the climate of BIGOTRY in our country it really makes me feel some kind of way. I'm not saying they were prejudice... but you feel me, right? Sad part is I love coming to this little spot in the Aquarius when we're in Laughlin. When you need coffee after an exhilarating and exhausting day on the river and your legs will only carry you so much further..you stop and grab the first cup of coffee you see. For me it happened to be in the lobby of the hotel we were already staying in. Lucky me because I wasn't going to make it much longer. The coffee and wine bar is cute enough for being located in Laughlin. My first visit was around 12:00pm, and there were several other customers inside, seated at the various tables both inside the cafe and outside close to the casino floor. So that was a good sign, at least they had some business. I was greeted by a cheery gentleman who quickly took my order. By quickly, I mean..I had stood there for all of 5 seconds before he asked if I was ready. I placed my order..only to wait 10 minutes for it. Why rush me if you're going to take your time making my drink? Not cool. Once my drink was ready, he set it on the bar and walked away. Didn't look at me, didn't call it out. Didn't even place a straw with it. Wtheck, rude. So I went to grab my drink, and asked for a coffee sleeve because the cup was freezing and I didn't want to end up with soggy napkins from the condensation. He rudely rolled his eyes and started to point at the little table with the creamers and such. Stopped him mid point to let him know there weren't any over there and that's why I'd asked him. Again, rudely handed me a coffee sleeve. Dang bro, it's not like they take a cut off of your check for handing out sleeves. Just saying..so I ended up not coming back to The Duet until the end of our trip and I needed a late night refuel. The 2nd visit was far better. The two ladies manning the counter were really sweet and they have me some time to decide before ordering. Even though it was 10:30 PM, the service was fast and they made my macchiato how I like it. Extra hot, no foam, whipped instead, cinnamon sprinkled on top. When my ACE card didn't work, she asked if I had placed it next to my phone. Of course I had, so she told me to go get a new one ASAP and she manually did my discount. When it was ready they came out to me, as I had stepped out because I was so sleepy and I didn't want to fall asleep at one of their tables. Which was a pleasant change from just having my drink left on the counter. I ended up going back once more before they closed that night to get a refill of my macchiato because it was pretty good. And the service was much better, so why not. None of my drinks had the burnt aftertaste that you find accompanies most of Starbucks drinks, even though for the price, you might have thought The Duet was an undercover Starbucks location. Pricing was basically the same, if not slightly more since well -- casino. Not surprising to me as I used to live in Vegas, but sticker shock for those who might not be used to paying upwards of $5.50 for a coffee. Anyhow, the drinks were all good so I was happy that I hadn't wasted money on lousy drinks because let's face it.. You're only gonna get so much in Laughlin, and this was at the upper end of the what was available to me when I didn't feel like trekking back to my Keurig. They have plenty of pastries, sandwiches, donuts(provided by Krispy Kreme) and they also offer a wine and cheese platter pairing. I saw 8 bottles of wine available, but as it didn't peak my interest that much I don't know the pricing or how much you get for what you spend. Honestly, I would come back to The Duet when in Laughlin because it was good coffee and it was readily available at the times I needed it. Service apparently is hit or miss depending on the time of day.. And let's face it, on Sunday's the line will be longest and at check out time too. But since I had 2 out 3 good visits, I would go back. If this is what's closest to you, just stop in. It's better than going from casino to casino looking for a cup of decent Joe. I came to Duet twice while staying in Laughlin, which was conveniently located in the hotel we were staying in. They sell coffee, tea, wine, and some select few food items (mostly breakfast type food like bagels and cream cheese). Our hotel gave us two "buy-one-get-one-free" drink coupons, and we used both of them. I ordered an Iced Coffee both times, which was great (but you can't really go wrong with an Iced Coffee). My boyfriend ordered a Hot Chocolate one day and an Iced Tea the next day, and he liked both. We both ordered bagels one morning as well, which were good. Both times we came in Duet was busy. Saturday morning we waited almost 15 minutes for our drinks, but Sunday we got our drinks in just a few minutes. We were in no rush, so it was not an issue for us. Rude, rude older lady in the tan jacket working the register. Doesn't even appear to know what she's doing or where she's at... When I ordered my coffee this morning she asked me hot or cold? I said" Hot "and then the person behind her said "OK got it "and then she's like "hot or cold? "And the person that worked there said" he said Hot". Came back about two hours later because we are dying of thirst and she charge me for water and a cup... Even though I explained her I had been there this morning and explained what I had gotten, the total, and that I want to just get 2 cups of water for me and my wife. Her response was "that was then this is now it'll be $.54 " which I paid but I will never be back! she's super rude and should not be working there. To define "old "I would say she's between 65 and 70. Customer no service. The casino management should know she's clueless and rude, a bad combo for a business. This place is ridiculous! I went in to buy 2 iced coffees and a donut for my 3 year old. I had a coupon for $10 off the order so total I owed was 0.83 cents. I only had my husbands card on me as he left to get us a cabana at the pool. The lady at the counter wanted my ID for this transaction and said it was policy. The manager was an idiot too and couldn't make an exception. 15 minutes later my husband came gave the manager the card and was never asked for his ID. Really? What happened to its policy? I could have just asked a random guy to come over cause I wanted to rip them off for 83 cents!!!! These people need to be trained when to use their judgment better and make exceptions so customer service doesn't suffer. In the end they gave me a free donut. Too little too late! They should have just given me the first donut free so my 3 year wouldn't have had to wait 15 min to eat. read more

There aren't many choices for great food in Laughlin and if you want coffee, you pretty much have to go to a chain. However, the Aquarius decided to change that up a bit and added this great coffee/wine bar. Great idea and very convenient since I was stuck working in my room all week. Duets offered coffee and pastries in the morning, sandwiches and wraps at lunchtime, and wine in the evening. I had the turkey wrap one day for lunch and a blueberry muffin for breakfast. Both were delicious! They also offer a variety of yummy looking desserts including large cupcakes and several different cheesecakes. If you're staying at the Aquarius and don't pop in here at least once during your stay, you're making a big mistake. read more

If there was anything less than NO STARS I would use that scale. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I tried them 2 days in a row. The wait just to order was 15+ minutes, the cashier wasn't friendly but the worst was yet to come. The price, $7 for a 20 oz iced mocha and I skipped the $2 a pop espresso shots. But most disappointing of all was the quality of my ICED coffee drink. Still hot with melting ice on top, excessively sweet no coffee flavor and the milk was sour. This place is amazingggggg. Boyfriend and I came up to Laughlin for a little getaway and noticed there wasn't much going on here. Stepped into this little coffee shop and our whole trip took a turn for the best! Super friendly staff. Deborah helped us, and gave us plenty of time too look at food options and explained and offered the cordial add ins for our fraps (kahlua, Jameson, bailey's...). Inside the restaurant theres free wifi given to you, plug in outlets for laptops and phones, and bottles of wine on tables with menus suggesting pairings of wine and food sold there. Being freshly 21 and entering this place, it was definitely something worth splurging on! Such a shame this California native fell in love with an independent Nevada coffee shop! Drinks are ok, wine bar acceptable, but the food options are what you would expect from behind the glass. Processed and not very tasty. My husband and I went to ride Jet Skis at Laughlin for a few hours last Sunday. We had dinner at the Aquarius Casino then we decided to have some coffee and desert at the Duet. Wow! There coffee was delicious, i had the caramel latte. My husband had the tea, he said it was very good. We also had eclairs. OMG! The eclair was so good, the cream inside was delicious, they were also huge! My husband and i split one. Came for the the cool wine dispensers and was disappointed. The girl at the register was unprofessional and slightly rude. You need wine cards to use the machines and they didn't have any, so they sent a manager to get more. 10 minutes later he comes back and says they're out of wine cards. 1) Why did no one think to check when they ran out behind the counter in the first place? 2) How did no one even know they were completely out of them? The wine dispensers are kind of the draw of this otherwise normal cafe, it baffles me this wasn't discovered sooner and how it was handled. Going home to enjoy free wine. read more

First of all, this place is very clean and well decorated! It replaced Starbucks and seriously I'm glad. It was about 9 PM and they were packed, but the two girls behind the counter were absolutely great with excellent customer service. I ordered the Danish with Cream Cheese and my husband ordered the Chocolate Eclaire. WOW they were extremely large I think the eclair was a double and the danish was about 6" in diameter and very well priced at $5 each!! I didn't think my husband would eat the whole thing in one sitting but he did and didn't even offer me a bite!! I could only eat about 1/3, and the next evening ate another 1/3 while my husband finished it off. I was so disappointed that I forgot to take some back to Vegas with me. I did want to leave a rating and when I was reading some of the others and then some that were negative, I'm sure the staff has changed because the two young ladies that worked when I was there, were great! Third day in a row (just wanting my morning coffee) I've had to ask for someone to make my coffee. They are great at taking the order but terrible at delivery. This morning, the employee chose to talk on the phone in front of all the customers while the coffee cups stacked up and obviously a personal phone call. Very Slow & Not Worth The Wait! Coffee lovers can appreciate a good cup of coffee and there's not much they wouldn't be willing to do in order to get it. I happen to be a coffee lover. I came to Duet located inside of the Aquarius while staying on vacation thinking it was still Starbucks. Disappointed, I still gave it a try. There were three employees working and I ordered 2 iced white mochas. The cashier was very friendly but there only seemed to be one guy making all of the drinks. This didn't seem to be too bad until I noticed everyone's drinks who were behind me coming out first! I waited at least 20 minutes for my coffee and I was second in line to order. This shouldn't be acceptable to anyone and the coffee was definitely not worth the wait. I felt that the service and quality were very poor. Please don't let this happen again. read more

What a letdown! The sundried tomato chicken pasta had sundried tomato color, not the flavor. The fettuccine, you'd get more flavor from a grocery store jar of sauce and the shrimp tasted like pre-cooked boiled shrimp. read more
