Due Amici is now a "go to" place when we want a quick bite in Ybor. The caprese style pizza is cravable and positively addictive. The quality of product is present. The restaurant itself is a craftsmans inspiration with palletwood walls and industrial themed lights. Very cool. I'm not sure what really to say about the service; everyone is very nice, but there has not been a standard set for ordering, receiving food or drink, paying the bill. It seems to depend on the day. We tried this pizza for the first time on Saturday night. The bartender recommended it over all the other pizza joints in Ybor. When we went to pay for it, it cost $27 for a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza. What? How can that be? I jokingly said to him, "Is this going to be the best pizza I've ever had?" Well - it turns out that it might not be the best, but it was really, really good. New York style, huge slices, and generous with both the pepperoni and the fresh mushroom toppings. Great, flavorful, not too thick, not too thin crust, and I really liked the amount of pizza sauce and cheese they used. They have a nice bright space on 7th Avenue, and it looked very clean. We ate here with our 3 kids for an early lunch after visiting MacDill AFB. We were so pleasantly surprised! The pizza was so fresh and it tasted amazing. We also tried the spaghetti and meatballs and it was so authentic, the pasta is homemade abs cooked al dente. One of the chicken parmesan sandwiches was burnt. The bread was pressed or toasted too long. How hard is it to replace the bread? The eggplant parmesan sandwich didn't have any marinara sauce. The sandwiches and entree had excessive cheese. The little bit of breaded coating on the chicken parmesan was slimy and falling off. It was mostly just plain chicken breast for the two sandwiches and entree. Very strange as it's supposed to be a coated and fried chicken breast. Maybe because it was steaming in the take out containers. It doesn't travel well. The pasta weren't al dente. I expected more based on these reviews. The sauce was applied sparingly to our dishes, which is strange as that's a major part of this type of Italian dishes. read more

We walked in to get out of the heat, and my daughter had been begging for noodles since we arrived in Tampa. My first thought was, "uh-oh, this is not the place". But then my son was given a bottle of water and the staff made us feel like family. My wife asked about noodles with butter since it wasn't on the menu and that's what my daughter craved. A lovely Italian woman selected fresh pasta and accommodated us. She delivered the pasta with small cannoli decorated in chocolate and sprinkles. This place is amazing! I come here every now and then when we're hanging out in Ybor city. This is located on the same block as Bernini restaurant and The Big Easy bar. It's always very nicely decorated in here. Every time I visit here the decor changes a little bit. They serve good quality gourmet pizzas for the most part and have a selection of beer and wine. During the daytime, there is an area at the back center that serves as a café portion of the restaurant, but closes in the evening to serve pizza only. Upon entry, a selection of gourmet pizzas will be to your left for you to choose which slices you want. And the person behind the counter then will heat the slices up in their pizza oven for a couple of minutes as you work your way down the line to pay for your slices (and select a drink if you choose). This location is self seating. This is definitely a place worth visiting after a night out of barhopping, etc. in Ybor city. read more

So, at 2:00 AM restaurants or food availability is very limited. I called the restaurant to confirm they were open; drove over and picked up 2 slices of (cheese) pizza. There were a few customers dinning it and several came in to order takeaway while I was there. They had my pizza ready within 5 minutes and I went out to eat in my vehicle. I must say the staff had a very cool customer friendly vibe. The pizza was good but being from NYC I have to compare to what I am use to. Needless to say, I know Ybor City is not NYC. On my way back home from Bush gardens in Tampa my kids and my friend and her son stopped at a pizzeria. We passed a few small average dated pizzerias. Until we came across this establishment it was a modern and bigger then your average pizzeria spot with lots of seating, TVs and AC. As you walked in the pizza were on display so we began to look and decide what we were going to get. The gentlemen was not really friendly and was very rushy and it wasn't like there was other people waiting. We ordered our pizza and walk over to the cashier to pay and she was not friendly as well. I can't get over how amazing this place is. The pizza, the service, the ambience! It's all incredible. We went here a month ago with our son and it was incredibly kid friendly and then today decided to drive 30 mins out of our way today because the pizza is just unmatched. Our son was sick, and we mentioned it to the owner and he brought us a complimentary pasta to bring for our 2 year old for dinner. The service is just incredible here! Ybor city has several pizza options to choose from but I'm going to tell you why you should go to Due Amici. Due Amici is the newest pizza place to hit the Ybor area, recently turned over from a prior pizza place that was pretty good Due Amici has fully remodeled the inside to bring it up to speed with the modern world. They have a large open floor plan with a pizza display and prep station right in front of the window, with a small bar. The inside is gorgeous. Food wise when I happened to be at Due Amici they had a ton of different type of pies to choose from along with strombolis and calzones. I was pretty impressed with the quality of food it was really good and cheap. My favorite pizza place in Ybor has always been NYNY but honestly, Due Amici is so close that at this point it would really depend on what side of 7th I'm on at the time. read more
