Inspired by the courage of Elliot Page, I finally decided to log in and write this restaurant review. I've never had indian food before. The second I walked in I was hit with a wall of fart smell. I saw two kooky characters having a spirited mouth off in the kitchen, shouting goopty goopta back and forth. Those two things combined together had me crying laughing. This is supposed to be a restaurant? Still don't know what the food tastes like I just left.

I found the staff to be very attentive, however the choice of music was quite hilarious with a varied mix. We shared an entree of mushrooms cooked with chilli and garlic which was amazing. I ordered the lamb madras and my girlfriend enjoyed (after much deliberation) the eggplant masala. All was filled with flavour and I couldn't walk away - or should i say roll away - without finishing both. They also do take away, are lisenced and BYOB.

My only real complaint about this place is that the prices are pretty hefty for what you get. Arrived around lunch time and the staff were very accommodating and allowed me to have a breakfast menu. The meal was large, delicious and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection. What a great place. Plenty of parking and only a hop, skip and jump to the beach. I'll certainly out this on the regular list.

So, if being a bit pampered while eating some pretty decent Italian classics is your bag, then La Taverna may well be for you.
