What…read moreI love most about the school is how low the turnover rate is--most of their teachers have been there for a while, and that says a lot about the center. Everyone seemed genuinely friendly, and it didn't feel staged. The kids were playing normally, and some misbehavior was happening like you'd expect, but the staff handled it appropriately based on what I saw.

The teachers reinforce important health, safety, and manners related behaviors. When discipline is necessary the teachers use redirection.  The best part is my daughter really loves the school and is very happy there. I would highly recommend Kehillah. Talk to families who have been there more recently. The currently director and assistant director are both fairly new and have done amazing work at the school.

5.0 star rating 3/16/2014…read more First to Review I have been to a dozen different day cares in Delaware County and by far all of the Step by Step Learning Centers are far superior than the others I have inspected. They offer: college educated teachers, they have four stars with the Keystone Stars Program, they use creative curriculum at its highest level incorporating field trips and guest speakers in various occupations who come and speak to the children. This isn't your typical Child Care Center. This is an Academy that develops brilliant children. My children never want to leave and I am always impressed with what they have learned each day. Whether your child is 6 weeks old or 13 years old there is plenty of activities to keep their minds occupied. Don't waste your time going to other Day Cares, Step by Step is the place for intelligent minds and caring teachers and their rates are very reasonable

Teachers are always changing in the toddler room. My little one have a fear of changing diaper and…read morealways have a diaper rash. The fear had gone after changing daycare. Worst pain is seeing your child cry non-stopping because she is in so much pain with the diaper rash and you cant heal it right away. Also my child had a bite mark from the daycare. You can see the whole teeth mark. The director and teacher investigate and found no incident when it occur. This is how much they don't pay attention to your child. And push off your concern. I finally realize when your child cry non-stopping during your drop off is a sign that something is wrong. At first, I thought she needed my attention or still bonded to me. But the new daycare, I was shocked she stop crying during the drop off. Price is expensive at this center and lack of care to your child.

Our daughter has attended Play and Learn Bryn Mawr since January 2018 and so far, we have had an…read moreoverwhelmingly good experience here. Susan, the director, has been very responsive and accommodating, and our daughter's teachers are loving and involved. I have found the building and outside area to be clean (the playground area is awesome), and I will echo one of the other parents that the teachers in the other rooms go out of their way to engage with parents and children who are not even assigned to their rooms. There is a nice sense of community here. In particular, Miss Saamara in the Cuddlebug room is outstanding. She is incredibly warm and sweet. Our child had some issues with separation anxiety at first and Miss Saamara would take her and walk her around the room while holding her, showing her pictures and talking to her in a soothing voice as I left. I would often pause for a minute outside the room to make sure my child stopped crying, and Miss Saamara always had her calmed within a minute or two. Now that she has adjusted to her classmates and teachers, our child is always happy and barely notices when we arrive to pick her up - she would rather keep playing! One of the other things I really liked about this program is that most of the teachers have been here much longer than other programs: 5-15 years. That made me very comfortable that the director knows the teachers well and that they are in this career because they love what they do. The reason for the 4 out of 5 star rating is that we have had two minor issues here, but I feel that these has been handled well by the teachers/director and were positively resolved. (a few late arrivals by a teacher which caused me to be late to work and one incident where I picked up my daughter and she had developed a high fever but I was not called. The teachers had not noticed due to it being about 80 degrees out and the children were outside playing.) Overall, I felt these incidents were minor and I felt the teachers and director responded quickly and appropriately to my concerns. I think that as we get more time under our belt here (we have only been enrolled 6 months) and no further issues arise, I would be very comfortable amending this rating to a 5 star.

The director is always responsive and the teachers are caring, with many holding degrees in early childhood education. My daughter has grown and learned so much at her time "at school" and comes home saying new words and signing new signs and singing new songs almost every day. Most days she wants to keep playing when I come to pick her up. I've recommended this location to other friends looking for child care centers - we're happy with our decision to go with P&L in Bryn Mawr and look forward to our daughter continuing to grow and learn throughout her time there. There is a wait list so I'd suggest checking it out and getting on the list as soon as possible.
