The difference between a 3 star and a 4 star review is that the donuts are warm, fresh & made to order! So, hard to go wrong there! Overall inside it's chaotic (with volume comes chaos). The workers aren't super helpful or cheery. The floor is sticky and the self serve coffee counter was a wreck. Donuts were just the same as the other locations. Tasty. We just pick and choose if we come to this one when we are in Avon. Best way is to order ahead and take and have a car picnic or back to the beach house! read more

This place smells sooooo good when you walk inside. They have so many donuts to choose from. We got the Maple Bacon, Peanut Butter Paradise, Chocolate Covered, and glazed. I also got the Carmel Macchiato on ice. The donuts were very warm, we loved all but the glazed donut. Just not enough glaze, not sure. My favorite donut was the Maple Bacon it was so delicious and it made me crave more! This store also had Merch like t-shirts, bags, various cups, toys, stuffed animals, and key chains. The girls taking orders were very nice and friendly and so were the donut makers handing out the orders. The Carmel macchiato was better than Starbucks! I'm on a road trip and stopped here for some coffee on my way out of town in the morning. I went at about 9:30 AM and it was bustling! I ordered their most popular doughnut (maple glaze and bacon bits) and a cappuccino. The doughnut was AMAZING! I absolutely loved it. The cappuccino was also very good. We stopped in here one morning in early May. This Duck Donuts is conveniently located in the same strip mall as Food Lion, other shops and eateries. I had eaten breakfast already, so I was just looking for a hot coffee to go for our drive down to Hatteras. My husband wanted to get a donut. My husband ended up ordering a donut breakfast sandwich, the kind you would typically get on an English Muffin or bagel. It was pretty cool, he could choose from a wide assortment of donuts, but he opted for a plain one. It's really awesome that the donuts are made to order, way better than the stale ones Dunkin' often has. There were only 2 other parties in here ordering, it was a bit slow getting his food. I can't imagine coming in here at the peak time in the summer, but maybe they have more staff at that time. In addition to food, they also sell some neat merchandise. Plenty of t-shirts, mugs and hats for sale. There is SOME seating inside, but not a whole lot. This is a good breakfast alternative to a sit down restaurant, but if you are in a huge rush, it might be better to pick some up at the nearby grocery store. read more

I ordered a maple donut sandwich and they gave me a plain one, I ordered an iced cold brew with no milk or sugar because I wanted an iced black coffee that wasn't sweet and the woman continued to ask me what milk I wanted. Lots of workers, doing what they could to move everything along. But the time in line was good to pick out our donut selection! Got a variety, but the stand out for us was the maple bacon.
