The difference between a 3 star and a 4 star review is that the donuts are warm, fresh & made to order! So, hard to go wrong there! Overall inside it's chaotic (with volume comes chaos). The workers aren't super helpful or cheery. The floor is sticky and the self serve coffee counter was a wreck. Donuts were just the same as the other locations. Tasty. We just pick and choose if we come to this one when we are in Avon. Best way is to order ahead and take and have a car picnic or back to the beach house! read more

Always great for a quick sugar rush breakfast. Everyone is friendly and service is fast.

Delicious donuts made to order, I recommend the "seasonal" special. That dozen goes fast! Sign up for the junk mail for a free donut with purchase. It's meant to be a one-time special, but they don't check. read more

Awesome! We ordered on line ahead & picked up 2 dozen of these beauties! We had a dozen in the popsicle donuts box & a dozen breakfast box. The 3 kids (6, 8, 10) attacked the box with a knife, cutting off pieces! They were still warm & so tasty! Expensive? Yes! Worth it? Exactly! Tasty! Fun! read more

This place smells sooooo good when you walk inside. They have so many donuts to choose from. We got the Maple Bacon, Peanut Butter Paradise, Chocolate Covered, and glazed. I also got the Carmel Macchiato on ice. The donuts were very warm, we loved all but the glazed donut. Just not enough glaze, not sure. My favorite donut was the Maple Bacon it was so delicious and it made me crave more! This store also had Merch like t-shirts, bags, various cups, toys, stuffed animals, and key chains. The girls taking orders were very nice and friendly and so were the donut makers handing out the orders. The Carmel macchiato was better than Starbucks! If we see another one in our travels tomorrow we will be back for sure! Here are some pictures that I took. The store was very neat and well organized. The pink chair outside was really cute! read more

Just about the best donuts I've ever had. I've tried lots of donut place like voodoo donuts, but NONE held a candle to Duck Donuts!! Amazing dough and toppings hands down! I've been to 45 States and it's the first time I've been blown away by donuts! read more

The donuts here are to die for! They aren't like mass produced donuts here like at Dunkin', these are made fresh. We got a dozen and pretty much ate all of them the first day (vacation calories don't count)! I liked that they showed you the donuts before wrapping them up so you could make sure they looked right. Will definitely pick up some for the drive home! read more

Very clean store. The service was fast and friendly. The donuts were so yummy. The only downside is they close at 2pm.

quite possibly the worst service I have ever experienced. If I managed this establishment I would fire the entire staff. Rude! when I said thank you to the young lady giving me my order she rolled her eyes and look the other direction the person taking m order hated their job as well and shorted me a donut read more

I'm on a road trip and stopped here for some coffee on my way out of town in the morning. I went at about 9:30 AM and it was bustling! I ordered their most popular doughnut (maple glaze and bacon bits) and a cappuccino. The doughnut was AMAZING! I absolutely loved it. The cappuccino was also very good. Wether you are a local or just passing though, I definitely recommend! If I lived in the area, over time I would want to try all of their different flavors. Yum! read more

Duck Donuts - Me, after I got my order! They have a cute chair in the front for tourists like me. :) - Donuts Near Me - Avon, North Carolina

Made fresh how you want it, served hot with lots of options. Always worth a stop if wanting delicious but not nutritious treats

We stopped in here one morning in early May. This Duck Donuts is conveniently located in the same strip mall as Food Lion, other shops and eateries. I had eaten breakfast already, so I was just looking for a hot coffee to go for our drive down to Hatteras. My husband wanted to get a donut. My husband ended up ordering a donut breakfast sandwich, the kind you would typically get on an English Muffin or bagel. It was pretty cool, he could choose from a wide assortment of donuts, but he opted for a plain one. It's really awesome that the donuts are made to order, way better than the stale ones Dunkin' often has. There were only 2 other parties in here ordering, it was a bit slow getting his food. I can't imagine coming in here at the peak time in the summer, but maybe they have more staff at that time. In addition to food, they also sell some neat merchandise. Plenty of t-shirts, mugs and hats for sale. There is SOME seating inside, but not a whole lot. This is a good breakfast alternative to a sit down restaurant, but if you are in a huge rush, it might be better to pick some up at the nearby grocery store. read more

It is what it is - a freshly fried in front of your eyes donut treat dipped in your choice of sugar frosting and topped with sugar...! If that fixes your sweet tooth, then this is the place for you. There are a variety of interesting flavors and it's good fun to sit and watch the expert donut maker's at work. Watch how they dip your doughnut and manage to not get any frosting on their hands. Lots of space and air in this cavernous Donut joint. Check out the merchandise as well so you can get on your doughnut swag. read more

Every time we go to OBX, we must go to Duck Donuts. This time was no different. The place smelled amazing when you first walked in and was extremely clean. I don't crown places as "best ever" very often, but these are the best donuts I have ever had! DUCK DONUTS IS A MUST! I highly recommend the beach ball and the blueberry, the hot made to order donuts deliver on taste and freshness. They taste like funnel cake but are not too sweet. Don't get just one! read more

Heard a lot about this place and wasn't sure it would live up to the expectations...boy was I wrong! The variety of flavors was appealing to my sweet tooth. The donuts are delicious. I ordered a maple donut sandwich and they gave me a plain one, I ordered an iced cold brew with no milk or sugar because I wanted an iced black coffee that wasn't sweet and the woman continued to ask me what milk I wanted. I received an iced mocha that had whip cream and way too much chocolate. The donuts are great, just don't stray away from getting anything else because apparently they won't understand. read more

Truly a unique experience! Out shopping and really just wanted an iced coffee, so we stopped in. Iced caramel macchiato was tasty. We decided to each try a donut since we were there. I had a Bacon in the Sun, what the duck! That was perhaps the most delicious sweet treat I've ever put in my mouth. Was so hot and fresh you couldn't really hold it. Thank goodness I don't live here, this could be a serious addiction. read more

What a fun donut shop! Visited in the first week of August 2019 on a random morning of our vacation. The line was almost out the door, but it moved at a good pace. Lots of workers, doing what they could to move everything along. But the time in line was good to pick out our donut selection! Got a variety, but the stand out for us was the maple bacon. Not too sweet, perfect combo of salty/sweet. Donuts were fresh, good tasting, variety of choices and experience of watching your donuts be made from start to finish was good! Only reason for 4 stars was the price - in our opinion a bit high for the size of donuts. They are smaller than a regular donut. read more

Nothing but excellent things to say about this shop. The service was friendly and fast, and the donuts are hands down some of the best I've ever had. The maple bacon are AMAZING. The store was clean and all employees were wearing masks as recommended. We even ended up with some extras for free, as an extra order had been made and we were the last customers prior to closing. OMG! The best donuts ever!! They make them fresh while you wait. So many options. Nothing like a fresh, hot donut.

Donuts are amazing to begin with. It is difficult to make them even better. Duck Donuts has figured how to make a delicious donut even better. My most favorite thing about this donut shop is that they make all of the donuts fresh to order. With that being said, time and speed of service are sacrificed; however, that is well worth it to me because of the quality of donut. The donuts here are so light and fluffy in texture where it just melts in your mouth. It is definitely worth the visit. read more

This place was fantastic. Was visiting the OBX for the first time ever with my in laws. They had fond memories of it growing up. These are some of the best Donuts I've ever had. They had a staff of about 30 people making them assembly line style. Clearly a place with a cult like following as there were probably 20 other people there at 8am like me when they opened. Favorite donut would have to be the one with bacon on it and Oreo! read more

Good donuts. We got several kinds and weren't as impressed with the maple bacon one as we were expecting to be based on other reviews. We liked the one with lemon dipped and raspberry drizzle the most. I think kids would really love this place because of all of the topping options. read more

Great local spot! We got in right before they closed for the day and it was definitely worth the trip! We got a midnight madness doughnut, a piña colada doughnut and a glazed doughnut. These southern style donuts really lived up to my expectations. They were fresh and warm and super delicious! Our favorite was blueberry glazed and our least favorite was the chocolate peanut butter. Good old glazed still does it for me as well and even the "bare" looked like a solid choice if ordering more often. I wished we had something comparable in NJ. read more

This "design your own donut" shop is incredible! Friendly service, great prices, clean facilities ... our family of three gives this place six enthusiastic thumbs up! Amazing! Friends told us about Duck Donuts and we tried them out the first day we were in Avon. They're made fresh in front of you, so come out warm and perfect.
