If you're a fan of the movie, you need to see some great memorabilia that Brown has from his unique experience. Dyersville's downtown is just a block south, and The Field of Dreams is just four miles away, so The Baseball Hall of Dreams should be on your itinerary when you're in the area. Brown and his staff have fun collectibles throughout the facility, and they rotate interesting photos that display the passion that baseball has brought people for two centuries. They also have occasional events at the venue, and their store has some truly fun options. There's a small admission, but it's worth it. If you're in town with a group, a softball or baseball team, it's a learning experience for youngsters and it's kid friendly.

Well tonight at 6:45 we got approached by a ranger and said we had to split up... we we're already split up and this was only on hole two of the red and the 1st hole doesnt take much for anybody lets be real im new and can get it done quickly... so we split up even more and played best shot the whole time should have to do... id say around hole 4ish we were just teeing off and once again approached by a ranger saying i was pulled off hole 18 of the blue and yall still aren't split up... no we are but you are now assuming... i and everyone else felt very harassed. I will not be returning to this course for a very long time if this is going to happen like this... we had teams of two and planned on playing best shot the whole time but to be harassed saying there ppl behind you and there isnt and that it was all our time slots... poor business... do better

We went on a Sunday early in the morning and there was almost no one there. It was super easy to find parking. The trails are clearly marked, but you don't go off path and everything is easy to walk; at least the trails we went on. Some were uphill and some were downhill, but we were able to have our stroller. Overall, it was a nice little stop from Galena and enjoyed ourselves.

There are paved walkways that take you through the park There are a number of benches with various views. There's a gazebo, a statue of Grant, historic cannons/howitzers, a water fountain, a playground for small kids, and a basketball court. Can be a good place to just relax or to stroll. To stroll the whole thing - while reading the signs - took 45 minutes.

There's a playlot for little ones and their carers. A fountain is part of the landscaping and probably provides some meditative white noise for people just here to relax and be. There are also several historical monuments; after all, named after favorite son Ulysses Grant, you'd expect as much. I was a bit surprised that there are two cannons here... not what I was expecting! Probably not loaded, though. There is access to Main Street on the east side of the river by using the pedestrian bridge. The lettering on the side of the park with its name was destroyed a few years back, and a Boy Scout troop repaired it. That's really cool that the local troop worked with the community in this way.

We did get lost trying to find the nature center which didn't seem connected to the part of the park we first arrived in...it seems there are two separate entrances? Fortunately we were near the cool castle-like tower, the Julien Dubuque Monument, which offers stunning panoramic views of the Mississippi and of the city of Dubuque.
